Sometimes the truth hurts — especially when it comes to television ratings. After three seasons, FOX has cancelled Lie to Me.
Starring Tim Roth, Lie to Me revolves around Cal Lightman and members of The Lightman Group. They’re a team of specialists who help law enforcement agencies uncover the truth by using applied psychology. Others in the cast include Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer.
Last season, Lie to Me averaged a 2.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.03 million total viewers. That was down from season one and the series found itself on the bubble for renewal. FOX ended up giving the TV series another chance and renewed it for 13 episodes.
Unfortunately, season three didn’t perform nearly as well as season two. It premiered last October to a 2.1 rating in the demo and 5.86 million. Viewership eroded in subsequent weeks and FOX declined to give the show a full season order. Lie to Me then hit a new series low in January, registering a meager 1.5 rating and 5.43 million viewers.

In its final weeks on the air, viewers seemed to rally behind it and Lie to Me had its best ratings of the season — a 2.5 in the demo and 7.67 million.
Though the ratings had come way down, FOX execs claimed that they still valued the TV series and saw it as a solid utility player. Showrunner Alex Cary said, “Fox has been very clear with us — they know what the show is, they know what it can do. [The ratings bump] shows that people will come watch the show.”
Now, after three seasons on the air, the series is over. FOX has officially cancelled Lie to Me after 48 episodes. All of the installments have aired. Though there are too few episodes for a traditional syndication package, the first two seasons have already been released on DVD.

NORWAY WANTS CAL AND GILLIAN!
WHAT THE? LOVED THIS SHOW – IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF AIR. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE NETWORKS? HOW IS IT THAT SHOWS LIKE THIS ONE ARE NOT CONTINUED. IT MAKES ME WONDER, ARE GOVERNMENTS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PUTTING PRESSURE ON NETWORKS TO STOP THIS SHOW BECAUSE OF IT’S CONTENT.
I just watch through all the episodes and got real shocked to hear that there will be no season four. In my opinion the serie should defently continue.
I was cut short of breath when I heard lie to me was cancelled. Lie to me was like a series that made me thankful for the idea of series making. I hope to see more series like that. Please please please give us lie to me back. till tomorrow I still ask the cd dude for season 4 just he turns to get it for me.

Can’t believe there’s no more I’m gutted. Watched them all on netflix and they’re ace. You really need to bring it back. It’s too good not to!! We want cal and the gang back
You know what? If Amazon wants to get into this arena, they should buy this show and put it back on the air.

I’m devastated!!! I just finished the 3 seasons on Netflix and found out that there will be no Season 4…EVER! Just when Cal was going to open up to Jillian…I’m so mad! Please, Please bring this back..it’s a smart show and I loved trying to figure it out before the end.
YOU GUYS ARE NUTS. Why don’t you look at the 45-70 year old market. We like smart series with great actors. Check Netflix and On Demand and Apple TV before you declare something DEAD.

Learn a bit of reading people to lie – damm funny when they try to confront there lie after that haha.
Yea sure Big Bang is funny and other series too. But Lie to me you either learn to lie real good and deceive or read people doing it which is more fun
Fox needs go look at the ratings for “Lie To Me” NOW…… a solid 8 on IMDB.
Another season would go nuts, IMHO.

One of the best series ever played!!! Please do something and bring another season!! I ve seen it a million times and still watching it!!! We want Call lightman!!!
Just watched all three seasons by borrowing DVDs from my library. I enjoyed it immensely. Original, well-acted. Last episode left me hanging — will Cal finally approach Gillian to be more than a friend? I am disappointed that I didn’t have more episodes to watch.

Please peeps – don’t leave messages such as the scriber of this one , explaining the essence of the series. I, for one, am totally up to speed and know what the plot, story line, characters, etc., are all about. Let’s not waste valuable time and space here defining the series; irrespective of how sorely it is missed.
