Sometimes the truth hurts — especially when it comes to television ratings. After three seasons, FOX has cancelled Lie to Me.
Starring Tim Roth, Lie to Me revolves around Cal Lightman and members of The Lightman Group. They’re a team of specialists who help law enforcement agencies uncover the truth by using applied psychology. Others in the cast include Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer.
Last season, Lie to Me averaged a 2.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.03 million total viewers. That was down from season one and the series found itself on the bubble for renewal. FOX ended up giving the TV series another chance and renewed it for 13 episodes.
Unfortunately, season three didn’t perform nearly as well as season two. It premiered last October to a 2.1 rating in the demo and 5.86 million. Viewership eroded in subsequent weeks and FOX declined to give the show a full season order. Lie to Me then hit a new series low in January, registering a meager 1.5 rating and 5.43 million viewers.

In its final weeks on the air, viewers seemed to rally behind it and Lie to Me had its best ratings of the season — a 2.5 in the demo and 7.67 million.
Though the ratings had come way down, FOX execs claimed that they still valued the TV series and saw it as a solid utility player. Showrunner Alex Cary said, “Fox has been very clear with us — they know what the show is, they know what it can do. [The ratings bump] shows that people will come watch the show.”
Now, after three seasons on the air, the series is over. FOX has officially cancelled Lie to Me after 48 episodes. All of the installments have aired. Though there are too few episodes for a traditional syndication package, the first two seasons have already been released on DVD.

I just got hooked on this show plz bring it back I actually got morales out of it and now it just gets canceled on the part where foster and cal we’re going to get together
I’m in South Africa and my boyfriend and I have watched all three seasons probably about a dozen times if not more. We are still disappointed that the show was cancelled. Perhaps too intellectual for some? It was different, refreshing and completely interesting as body language is something my boyfriend and I are very aware of. If Fox didn’t want the show then why not take it to another network or something? Come on! Good shows are taken off and replaced with nonsense. Not cool!
I got hooked on Netflix and now there isnt any more seasons. Why do they do that too us. They Need To Bring It Back

Oh my gosh Lie To Me is my favorite TV show and I’m devastated to learn that FOX canceled it. I was really getting into the show in season 3 and it really looked promising in the future. Hopefully it will be renewed or a spin off will emerge. I love all the characters and the base line of the show would be horrible to waste.
I really love all the episodes and it just made me so sad for its ending. I wish there’s season for coz this Lie To Me really serves as an inspiration. I am always learning whenever I watch the stories.
Season 4, pleeeease. I’m addicted in it, wanna see the happy beginning life of Foster and Cal ♡

I LOVE THIS SHOW! A unique twist to all the same old crime shows and great side stories plus its so interesting. It needs to come back!
I have just finished watching the all the episodes available and was very disappointed when it ended. I believe this show is totally unique and fascinating. I also believe that with further advertising and social media this show can be what it should have been in the first episode. I have told all my friends about it and they are also watching it and are disappointed that it ends. Nowadays series are already removed quite quickly. Hundreds of thousands of people remain annoyed behind. I hate it !
I really think there should be continuing seasons of “Lie To Me.” Also considering people watch the show online, or wait for it to come out on dvd to watch it without commercials.

This is the problem i have with these stupid executives living in the dark ages with the ratings. Most people nowadays have DVRs and our lives do not revolve around the TVs anymore unfortunatly we now have to resort to stupid celebrity shows instead of good show that are continously getting cancelled because off poor ratings we should all just boycot there whole networks if they keep ******** over there viewers
