We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.

I watched the pilot and really liked it! Fox clearly didn’t give it a chance. Give it a new time slot and some advertising and I bet it will be a hit.
I loved this show! I didn’t see it when it aired on FOX, but I did watch it on hulu. I am so disappointed to see it cancelled after only two episodes!

Put it back on the air!! Start production of the other planned episodes!! This was a great show with a great story, FOX executives! I am from Texas and was intrigued with the story of cons in the oil and wind farm business. I KNOW that viewers in other states would be just as intrigued if not more so about this story of Texas. The “Reality” TV minds could not wrap them selves around what could have been great show ! Sad Sad Sad ! America wake up.
I came to this site looking for why I can’t find the show at its regular time. Seemed like a great series.. I hope the remaining episodes come to Netflix.
the reason ratings were so low is because it was up against “the event”. the event sucks, is too wierd, jumps around alot and is not as good as lone star. bring it back !!! Pick another night if you need to

Lone Star was so exciting that I tvoed for all the episodes. The only thing that they did wrong for this series, is that that they placed it against”The Event”, that I tvoed also. There was so much hype for “The Event” that everyone was watching it. However, I quit tvoeing that show, because it skips around too much, and makes no sense. Sorry for Lone Star. I hope it comes back.

I have been looking for this show on the guide and just now decided to look on line where I learned it was canceled. Can’t believe it. I was hooked. Thought it was a great show. I liked Prison Break, Breaking Bad, Legend of the Seeker as an example of my tastes in shows. Bring it back please.

Lone Star was one of the best shows I have seen in years even though it only made it thru two showings. The TV public are immature idiots who like the silly realty shows as well as stupid sit-coms with canned laughter! No wonder our eduacation standards are so well below the world’s top countries.
I agree, it was a great show that kept tuned in, but you are right you actually need to have some kind of intellegence to understand the show.
