MacGyver has a new agent. TVLine reports Person of Interest star Amy Acker will star in CBS’ upcoming reboot series.
Acker played Root (aka Sam Groves) on the recently cancelled Person of Interest.
In MacGyver, she’ll guest star in the series’ second episode “as a CIA operative who was working undercover in Caracas, gathering intel on an international arms dealer, when his organization kidnapped her.” She joins regular castmembers Lucas Till, George Eads, and Justin Hires.
MacGyver premieres on September 23rd.

There’s more! They talk about diversity but they have 3 male regulars and only 2 women. lmao
On the other hand, on Person of interest out of 3 male leads and 3 females by the end of the last season 2 men and only 1 woman survived. And they threw Root away like garbage while she could’ve stayed for 2 episodes more to help or don’t die at all. So I don’t know which is worse yet.
Not watching the reboot, but definitely watching her episode. Give the woman her own show!
Yes I’ll watch the second episode with her and for her. If this episode will be watchable I may go and check out series premiere. If the show isn’t bad and she’ll stick around as a regular I’m going to watch all her episodes as well.

Yep and only if the second episode will be watchable. Or maybe I’ll just watch the episode with Amy. Honestly I wasn’t even thinking about watching it until she got the gig on it. I don’t really care about new Mac that much anyway I like the old one better.
