Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

Sorry to read that Missing has been cancelled. I don’t usually watch these types of shows, but for some reason I really really enjoyed the show. I was spreading the word to my friends to watch the show. I thought the actors all did a fine job.
Absolutely loved this show..what’s not to love..thrilling action and suspense, love and complicated relationships, a super intelligent sexy powerful woman, all set in the background of exotic cities in Europe. Ashley Judd inspires! The fact that ABC did not make money on this program and decided to cancel has nothing to do with the quality of the program, it is more a reflection of the taste of the masses and perhaps poor marketing.
ABC……your polls are NOT accurate! Please read all comments regarding those DVR’ing, TIVO’ing, and On Demand’ing. You never gave MISSING a real chance. BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!
this was a brillant tv show.How is it possible jersey shore ,every kind of wife, the kardashians etc. thrive and superb acting and scripting is cancelled.What does this say about viewers. truly a sad commentary.

There are only 3 TV shows a week that are a must for me and Missing is one of them. Please renew this program. I love it.
We’re so disappointed to hear of the cancellation. We love Ashley Judd as an actress and thought the series was quite good. So much better than those rotten sit-coms that run over and over!!

I also love this show. Me and my wife would watch every thursday nite. But I’m not surprised it got cancelled everytime ABC bring out a new show I like it gets cancelled. Jericho, the event,and now missing. Maybe this is why your shows get bad ratings cause you cancelled all your shows after one season. I for one will never watch ABC again.
My husband and I are very disappointed to hear Missing was cancelled. We know a lot of people that enjoyed the show….we looked forward to Thursday nights.
Is there anyway ABC will take it off the cancellation list….PLEASE!

I loved this show!!! I can’t believe ABC canceled it. I lived it sooooooooo much. ABC always cancels the good shows and leaves the bad shows.
We loved this show – we watched it on ABC HD on free on demand so that may be why the ratings were low – finally a great show and they cancel it – typical!
Missing is/was the absolute best show on TV! It is like watching a great movie, as good as the movie “SALT”. In this day there are so many reality shows which I don’t like that keep getting renewed, while this great show is cancelled! Someone has rocks in their head. Simply put it in a better time slot. I had to record the series to be sure I didn’t miss an episode. Well I did miss a couple and had to go to iTunes to buy them.
Please ABC, renew this program!
ABC strikes again, you position this show against 2 established winners and then are upset about the ratings. IDIOTS; it was fast paced, intriguing and just down right good ~ it was good evening entertainment. Unfortuately, you slotted it to loose……. I am so sick of watching ABC shows only to have them end mid story. I honestly thought you were getting a jump on NBC, but you blew it again.
