It seems the fog has burned off. Spike has cancelled The Mist TV show after just one season. Based on the Stephen King novella, The Mist first premiered on Spike TV on June 22, 2017. The Viacom-owned channel will rebrand as “Paramount Network,” in early 2018. A few months prior to its first and only season debut, Kevin Kay, president of Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT said the new TV series had “potential,” and that they would renew it for season two, if the first season found “success” on Spike.
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Mist stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Frances Conroy. After the Copeland family’s daughter survives a brutal attack, an ominous mist overwhelms the town of Bridgeville, Maine. As it spreads, it threatens the very foundations of the town.
The Mist: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Mist averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Because The Mist was the cable channel’s first original scripted series, we don’t have ratings data from other Spike TV shows to which we can compare it.
Deadline has confirmed The Mist cancellation with Spike.

I liked it, it’s messed up definitely.. but that’s why I love Stephen King. He has an amazing twisted mind. I’ve read most of his books but not this one yet.. The last episode was so not the end and more of this story needs to be told. I guess ill just have to read the book to satisfy my curiosity…
But…Stephen King didn’t make or write this show….he gave the original idea wich is a awesome novella….and was well adapted in the movie…..this shows is a reimagination of the movie..the plot and most aspects where changed by other people. There are no real monsters. The original and movie mist came from the todash…and those monsters were from there…this mist is another thing.
Oh! I don’t thing just the novella will help with your curiosity….after the book maybe try for the movie. It has an ending that SK loved more than the one in the book.

I can not believe they are not going to do a season 2!! We need answers on what happens!! This show had me on the edge of my seat… where do they go? Why was the army feeding the mist? What happens to the rapist? What is the black guys true identity??? I’m so upset…. Netflix!!!! Pick it up please

Honestly…the character development was so bad that I genuinely cared most about Rufus. (The dog which dies in the opening scene)….and about that….why the mist killed that doggie? Did it rape somebody? Lol.
Lame show.
Please! Season 2! I binge watched season 1 in one day! So many questions left unanswered!
Bring it back
I don’t get why people didn’t like this show !! My boyfriend and I loved it and there’s still so many questions left to answer like why was he military feeding the mist?? Like it left it on a cliffhanger and it needs to be renewed for a second season.
I gave it a shot but omg, I feel the 5.4 rating on IMDB is too high. This was absolutely terrible, and I really wanted to like it. The movie from 2007 is one of my favourite horror movies of all time.
I’m glad there isnt a s2 coming and I hope no one picks this up, let it be dead and forgotten forever. Although it will be hard to forget about this horrifyingly bad show in a long time, at least for me.

I agree with Jessica Cruz. Just finished the season 1 of The Mist and would absolutely love a season 2. A great show and it kept me and my wife excited and thrilled. We so do want more seasons and for sure think that it needs to be picked back up. Please do not let it end here. Adrian needs to be dealt with. So much left hanging. We were on the edge of our seats. We were disappointed that there were not more episodes to watch. BRING IT BACK!
The way Stephen kings new it did in theaters I think spike probably cut there on throats by not renewing. Or maybe they just did not have the creativeness to go any farther since the mist original book ended this ways. Good luck to spike because I will not be watching and will discourage others to do the same.
Just finished watching season 1 on Netflix, It was so good, there’s too many questions, it’s definitely not done yet! Please renew for season 2!!!!!!!
I never know what airs on TV anymore due to not having cable AND it’d be difficult to be home for air times anyway. I binge-watched this entire season in one day though… So many character twists and plot development. So damn good. Please Netflix, don’t leave us hangin’.
What character development? The only thing interesting was that the gay boy was evil and the rapist
I liked season 1 but I would like to see what caused the mist and how they stop it. Wish they would give you an ending when they decide to cancel. I hate it when they just leave you hanging. They should air at least one last episode giving you some closure.
