It seems the fog has burned off. Spike has cancelled The Mist TV show after just one season. Based on the Stephen King novella, The Mist first premiered on Spike TV on June 22, 2017. The Viacom-owned channel will rebrand as “Paramount Network,” in early 2018. A few months prior to its first and only season debut, Kevin Kay, president of Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT said the new TV series had “potential,” and that they would renew it for season two, if the first season found “success” on Spike.
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Mist stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Frances Conroy. After the Copeland family’s daughter survives a brutal attack, an ominous mist overwhelms the town of Bridgeville, Maine. As it spreads, it threatens the very foundations of the town.
The Mist: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Mist averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Because The Mist was the cable channel’s first original scripted series, we don’t have ratings data from other Spike TV shows to which we can compare it.
Deadline has confirmed The Mist cancellation with Spike.

This was a absolute injustice to the Novel and Movie. Awful actors, hideous plot, overpowering stereotype characters and such bad production that me and my partner had to see it through just to laugh at it.
The one positive was i liked the camera work as a videographer myself. Some nice crisp shots and well used aerial footage.
Cancelled? And after that cliffhanger?! Come on! We need season 2!!
I am highly pissed off that they cancelled season two they need to rethink the cancellation bring on season two its one of the best horror shows i have seen in a very long time i am a horror fanatic i love horror please please bring back season two

Please bring this show back! We deserve this after the failure of the long-awaited “Dark Tower”, this show had plenty of promise. The show left everyone wanting more and if it is not returned for a Season 2 by Paramount, then hopefully Netflix can pick it up along with all of its former viewers.
How was Dark Tower a failure? He had the horn in that film, and I’m sure if Gan can restart Roland’s life, I’m sure he can send him to our world. I considered the Dark Tower a success, but people seem to forget that the end of the book showed him with the Horn of Eld restarting his journey. The film seemed like just another chapter after the books had ended.
Roland didnt care about the Dark Tower, thats the main thing I didnt like it. The thing about been a continuation was just a lame excuse to write whatever they wanted. Mixing parts of several books in a not so good way….and that ending? Ugh. Idris Elba was great but the movie in itself was too weak and too generic.

This show got me through my day and the way it ended kind of left you at a cliff hanger not knowing how or why the mist came. BRING ON SEASON 2 PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
