William Fichtner has been promoted as a series regular for the upcoming fourth season of the Mom TV show on CBS. He plays Bonnie’s (Allison Janney) boyfriend Adam, a former stuntman who now uses a wheelchair. Fichtner played Carl Hickman during the first two seasons of the Crossing Lines TV series, which was cancelled after one season on NBC. Netflix later picked up the show for a second and third season.
TV Line‘s Charlie Mason reported the news in an exclusive. Mom season four premieres Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The series stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney.
Fichtner was last season in Mom, episode 3.19, “A Catheter and a Dipsy-Doodle,” when Adam headed off to Croatia to serve as a stunt coordinator on a film.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Mom TV series? How do you feel about him being added to the fourth season cast?
I Love the show!!!! I watch 2 episodes every night, reruns or not. I also watch the latest newer show. So realistic, never go off the air, please!!!!!!!
I think he is great I I hope they for him on longer than Alvin
He is SO GREAT at delivering any line! They needed a very masculine man to hold his own with the imposing Allison Janney!
I think William Fictner’s character was/is the perfect addition to the hit series Mom. I absolutely love this show and regularly tell my friends to watch it. The cast is perfect as well as the awesome writers. Two thumbs way up.
I’m a new fan of Mom, it’s really well done.
I love William Fictner on Mom. I thought that maybe he was disabled now. I love Mom , I think it’s a really funny show with lots of interesting characters who have addictions .
I enjoy the show! It brings a highlight of true life! I would like if you could bring in Christian values too! Thank you!
Yes, im very happy you kept Adam on as a regular. I love the fact that you have more AA cast doing the shows, im glad you got away from the family cast, such as the kids, and Baxter. that is what makes MOM stand out , with the aa .. more than other comedy shows. All your cast is hilarious, .
Please bring back Violet, Roscoe and Baxter. Not a fan of Patrick. Love that Jill my favorite is back… the whole cast is great but I do love the character Jill.
Jaime Cressly can make any line funny! She’s wonderful, and I hope they give her a nice man…to keep!
Unfortunately, the producers hired Fichter, a non disabled actor, to play the role of Adam. There are many disabled actors available, and this is unfortunate.

I have reviewed alot of articles, but can not distinquish if William uses a wheelchair or not? Just curiosity, I come from a family with a member who used a wheelchair, and I think the show has done a good job of sharing the life of an disabled man.
I love the show, very funny. please keep show
Is William Fitchtner really in a wheelchair?
Think William Fichtner is good opposite MOM as a boy friend. Maybe he could join Al-anon or one of the other 12 Step Programs for a different view point!
As a long time 12 Step Program member from Southern CA, sometimes the scripts do not follow the program(s) as closely as they could. Would like to work with the writers on some of the scripts. I am also, a long time Artist and Writer with a good sense of humor and a good idea person.
Enjoy the Show. Thank you!
William Fichtner is the best thing to happen to MOM. I have watched those four episodes several times. He is an incredible actor Looking forward to season four.
Absolutely and couldn’t agree more ad Adam brings a whole new humour dimension that compliments the show. He’s a extremely talented actor who character fit’s in very nicely as he enables Bonnie role to explore and further expand. This does not distract from any of the other characters but amplifies the cast with fantastc humour.
Truly enjoy this show and may it continue as hilarious and refreshing to watch.
have become addicted to MOM I watch reruns over and over. Love Adam and Bonnie together. All the characters are so good. My father was helped by AA years ago. He turned his life around but it was a struggle. MOM does a great job of showing the difficulties, humor and living lifes ups and downs. Adam brings another part of life.
