CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O’Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned!

i really really really really really hope they make another season i am practicly dying to see if they make a new one especially with the new obsession with vampires it would get so much attention!!!!! i absolutly love i was hooked on it from the first time i watched it!!!! i’ve seen every episode so many times 16 episodes is not enough especially when they left u hanging not knowing what was gonna happen with the police getting all the vampire names and beth and mick relationship is questionable wether he’ll change her into a vampire and if so… Read more »

Moonlight should be brought back for a season 2 if not more. It was original and it wasn’t ANOTHER CSI so it was something different (which is probably why it got canned in my honest opinion). They should definitely bring it back. They have already admitted they were premature in canceling this wonderful show before all the vampire craze hit entirely. It’s not like we the fans didn’t try to scream at them what would happen, but hey, it’s like they say, you can’t fix stupid.
this was the best vampire stuff i ve ever seen. i live in europe and when i saw it on tv i thought that just another vampire show but it is totally different. 16 is not enough even 160 wouldn’t be enough. pls this is not enough we want moreeee

I like moonlight it was the best vimpire show ever! when it was on sicifi i would see it ever friday and thrday.And when i find out that it was on DVD i went out and buy it. So plese let it come back.
True Blood Show is a great show, really hoping that they bring it back for another season, have you heard anything about True Blood Show next season?
I still miss Moonlight everyday and watch it on my iPod everyday in addition to the DVD and its airing on SyFy on Fridays. With all of the continued fan support all over the world I wish TPTB would at least make a movie. All of the vampire interest with Twilight and True Blood makes the decision an easy one.
Hopefully since Scifi channel has picked up Moonlight there will be an upcomin g Season 2 YESS!!

This show rocks!! Bring on season 2 !!! We would be upset if there is no followon’s! Why is there 7 seasons of smallville and only 1 of Moonlight .. Moonlight is even better and this should lead to 10 seasons if not more!
hey it is a good show and really hope that season 2 come out soon cuz i really hate to leave off on season 1 and not know what happens next…. And just when it is getting to the good part in the story…. CBS please bring back season 2!!!!

I loved watching Alex so now i guess i will watch him on three rivers this fall.
I never missed a episode of Moonlight. I love that show. And I just found out
that Scifi was replacing it on Fridays at 9:00pm with Eureka I was so upset.
I hate Eureka and will probably find something else to do on Fridays nights!
Why do networks let really good shows fade and get lost and even killed
from moving to other nights.
