It’s really happening. According to Digital Spy, the cast of Nashville has just begun negotiations with CMT for the series’ upcoming fifth season.
After ABC cancelled the country music drama in May, CMT said they would air a fifth season and episodes will be available to watch the next day on Hulu.
Now, star Sam Palladio, who plays Gunnar Scott, says the business side and details of the deal have just begun:
At the moment negotiations have just begun. We only just found out that we have a new home. The business side of things is always interesting. When we got cancelled, a lot of us found out via Twitter and there wasn’t much communication when these big deals are struck.”
He added that he hopes he’s returning for season five because there are more stories to be told:
How Hollywood works in the business side of things is a little different to how us actors find out the information, so I would hope that everybody is returning. Certainly, everybody is so strong and we’re great friends, but it can be a cutthroat business.
Let’s hope that I’m returning! At the moment I assume I am, but we’ll find out, I guess! … There are definitely more stories to be told.”

thank GOD someone had the sense to renew this well-scripted, well-acted, and SO well-sung show. Nashville is the singular reason I am HOOKED on country music now.

I will definitely be watching. I was very upset when I realized they were canceling the show. There are a lot of stories to tell and I love the music.
I thought Nashville was well written with suspenseful story concepts. Enjoyed each show and hope series will last for many more series! One if the best drama shows in tv ever!

I AM SO Happy this was my go to show for the last 4 years and I have so much joy from watching it. I have the music CD’s… they need to keep TV like this Alive… cant wait to see what happened to Juliette’s plane! Bring it on.

Yes, most definitely. I was really ticked off when I found out that Nashville had been cancelled. This is my favorite show. I have begun to hate all these reality shows. It’s life live it!!!! Nashville is refreshing to all the stuff that’s on TV right now. I hope that there is more than season 5. Keep up the good work guys.
