From A&E:
NEW YORK, NY – November 4, 2016 – A&E Network’s critically-acclaimed original non-fiction crime series ‘Nightwatch,’ from executive producer Dick Wolf, returns Thursday, December 1 at 9 PM ET/PT. The hour-long series follows elite teams of emergency responders as they risk their lives to work the busiest and most unnerving shift of the day, the overnight shift in New Orleans, Louisiana.
‘Nightwatch’ is set in the historic city of New Orleans, where police officers, fire fighters and EMT’s working the overnight shift answer as many as a thousand emergency calls a night. The series follows multiple sets of partners in the New Orleans Emergency Medical Services unit who cover the intense and unpredictable period from 8 PM to 4 AM as they battle time and circumstance to save lives. The skills, dedication and determination that these critical and dangerous jobs require are on full display nightly while each new traumatic call comes in. As the city’s heroes, one thing remains clear – the job of an emergency responder in NOLA is not only about saving lives, it’s being there as a support system for the community of people in this diverse and inspiring city.
In the new season of “Nightwatch,” the New Orleans EMS are cutting the ribbon on a brand-new facility after losing their home base during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina more than a decade ago. As their beloved city sees a crippling spike in heroin overdoses, everyone from the police to the EMS are on high alert as drug deaths skyrocket. And when a fellow police officer is struck down while on duty, the entire ‘Nightwatch’ family must rally around each other and the community for support.
In the premiere episode, the NOLA EMS team celebrates the opening of its new headquarters, finally complete after ten years of working out of trailers. Meanwhile, Titus has his own new beginning as he’s received his paramedic’s license and he and long-time partner Dan must adjust to their new shared roles in a variety of calls. And new team, Arcady and Ted, get to know each other’s styles in their first shifts together.
“Nightwatch” is produced by Wolf Reality (“Cold Justice”) and 44 Blue Productions (“Wahlburgers”) for A&E Network. Executive producers for Wolf Reality are Dick Wolf (“Law & Order”-branded series, Chicago Fire/PD/Med/Justice) and Tom Thayer. Executive producer for 44 Blue Productions is Rasha Drachkovitch. Executive producers for A&E Network are Shelly Tatro and Devon Hammonds.
What do you think? Have you seen Nightwatch? Will you watch the new season?
I can’t believe nightstand new Orleans would be canceled in New Orleans that’s real end of you carried 6 people in every truck like Tampa life would be good but we don’t might watch new Orleans is real needs to be in couple nights a week
I totally agree with Amanda, she said exactly what I wanted to say. I love this show.
I absolutely love Nightwatch New Orleans!! I look forward to it every single week and DVR it so I can watch it over and over! Holly is my absolute favorite! I will be so disappointed if Nightwatch New Orleans is ending and not coming back!!! It is so much more interesting than the Tampa one. Please don’t cancel Nightwatch New Orleans!!!
I never thought that either show First 48 or Nightwatch was about race. I didn’t watch it based on that nor did I think that was what they were trying to portray. It’s sad to cancel two great shows because of some political bs! Night watch wasn’t always about the crime, it was also about car wrecks, saving children from asthma attacks, house fires, etc. It’s all what you take out of it!
I love the show it will be crazy to turn it off do you know the politics of the city. I’ve been watching the show since the first season and I will watch it until the last. I hope that they will continue to put this show on about people that are faced with the truth that the world should see every day rather than some of the trash that we get to watch. Hang in there guys will be watching !!
I’m a New Yorker living in BR!
I have become very invested in Nightwatch New Orleans. It has a vast assortment of varied people who have become family. As such, I am not interested in Nightwatch Tampa in the least. I watched the first episode and was not impressed. So if their replacing Nightwatch New Orleans with Nightwatch Tampa, I’m SOOO not interested.
I agree 100%!! They should not cancel such a great show! Tampa doesn’t have anything on Nightwatch New Orleans!
I love watching Nightwatch, what these men and women do is heroic.
