Oprah Winfrey was a ratings powerhouse with her daytime show for many years but her cable channel, OWN, has had its challenges. OWN has had some very successful comedies and dramas but no show can last forever. Which series will be cancelled or renewed next? Stay tuned!
Scripted OWN TV shows listed: All Rise, Ambitions, Cherish the Day, David Makes Man, Delilah, For Better or Worse, Greenleaf, The Haves and the Have Nots, If Loving You Is Wrong, The Kings of Napa, Love Is ___, Love Thy Neighbor, The Paynes, and Queen Sugar.
Last update: Most recent ratings added for All Rise.
There’s a lot of data that OWN execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are a major factor. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page or view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
Why is it taking so long for Green Leaf and Queen Sugar to return?
I love all of Tyler Perry’s shows; especially Haves and Have Nots, If Loving You is Wrong, Greenleaf. Queensugar etc; however, the time slot for If Loving you is Wrong was too late, evedn though I continued to watch it. It has a lot of anticipation about the situations that come up, however, sometimes the characters should receive what they dish out like Eddie. It makes the show more interesting when a person like Eddie loses instead of gains the upper hand.
I enjoyed Masters Class, in the past. Would like to here from Tom Seleck, Mark Harmon, and Denzel Washington.
I was excited by OWN when it started but have to say am extremely disappointed in the endless reruns. Everyone has countless repeats of Dateline? Seems we could do better than that. I also find it hard to get hooked on a show only to loose track of the season. I finally give up and stop checking the channel. I did like the show O was doing Where Are They Now. I like Soul Sunday but she needs to stop interrupting her guest so much. Sometimes so much I just switch it off.
I would personally love a new season of Too Close To Home.
It’s nice to see the other side and their struggles and how realistic the struggles are. Of course many prefer their laundry not be shown because it shows they are not perfect either.
I love all of these shows except Queen Sugar. I haven’t seen it yet but I might give it a chance seems like a lot of people love it. I’m so excited for The Paynes (Spin-off House of Payne) to start airing. I loved House of Paynes when I was younger. Hopefully this won’t be a disapointment like other spin-offs/reboots
Love love love Greenleaf and Queen Sugar. Most of the time I am grateful for On Demand to catch up.
I am soooooo appalled The Havs/Hav Nots out rate Queen Sugar. What in the world is own viewers minds. How can you go 5 episodes and not know your baby is still deceased? Or be locked up for an entire season in the same suit? Seriously? You don’t get prison clothes? The Directing is marginal; it has to be one of the longest drawn out tv series on tv. Queen Sugar gives you so much meat and real life. Wake up people
I am totally shocked, but not surprised about For Better or Worse. It’s one of the very few shows that a family can sit down and watch without being shocked and sending kids out of the room. It’s so sad how American TV do not focus around family much at all. I’m so very sad to see this show canceled, please reconsider, christian’s don’t have a lot of good choices, this was by far family oriented. I’ve only commented on 3 movies that would possibly be cut, in my over 60 years of TV.
Please contenue this show IS LOVEING YOU WRONG Because its right,,o my what a show you have made thank you!!!! Soooo intence its got you on edge every second..agin thanks to the wonderful casts ,,,you guys made this happen!! You guys are stars
HAHN,Queen sugar gives me everything im looking for on television! While Love thy neighbor is one on my kids”teen girls” fav! The only thing i can say i partially dont like is how slow” If loving you is wrong” is going so far, its like every season im finding them in the same clothes every episode it needs a little pic me up cause its dragging. But i still have it on DVR!
It seems so long between seasons until I sort of loose interest. We love all of the shows, but when we set my internal clock to watch them at a particular time on a certain day of the week, then too soon, it is the end of the season. Please order more episodes at a time, so that we won’t forget about the shows. Thanks.
I have never seen such horrible programming. These shows are trash.
I enjoy watching Greenleaf, Queen Sugar & If Loving You is Wrong.
I am surprised that the ratings for Greenleaf is not higher, it is an A1 cast. Maybe they should do more promos, the Have & Have Nots were highly promoted before there first season. If I recall correctly,Tyler Perry did the promo as he appeared on talk shows.
I have been watching the Have and the have nots since the beginning so even if I don’t like the soap opera quality I’m hooked at this point. Queen Sugar and Greenleaf are excellent shows that really showcase the talent these actors and actresses truly possess. Some of these actors are veterans and hold the bar high for the other actors. I love these two show, please do not cancel.
I enjoy watching “If Loving You is Wrong” and “Have and Have Nots”. Excellent writing and acting! I look forward to watching these shows and hope they both will return next season.
