Pop is the new kid on the block. According to Deadline, TVGN’s recently rebranded network is developing three new series that include a comedy from New Kids on the Block member Joey McIntyre.
Formerly the TV Guide Network, Pop is the network rebranded with a focus on popular culture.
Launched in 2015, the network first debuted Rock This Boat: New Kids On The Block, a reality series featuring the popular boy band. Now, the network is developing an improv comedy series with one of the band’s members.
Tentatively titled The Joey McIntyre Project, the half-hour comedy will follow a fictionalized version of McIntyre “as a cable talk show host.” Donnie Wahlberg will executive produce.
The other projects include Celebrity Escape Room, a game show that pits celebrities and their friends against each other in a race to see who can answer pop culture trivia in order to escape from a locked room.
I Watch It With My Girlfriend, the third series in development at Pop, will feature host James Pumphrey and a panel discuss the best of The Bachelor, Scandal, The Real Housewives, and other examples of “chick TV.”
What do you think? Have you watched the Pop network? Would you watch any of these new series?
