Though the ratings keep falling, Ray Donovan continues to be one of Showtime’s highest-rated scripted series. How long will the show continue? Could it last as long as Shameless, another of the channel’s top dramas? Will Ray Donovan be cancelled or renewed for season eight? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A Showtime crime drama, Ray Donovan stars Liev Schreiber, Alan Alda, Zach Grenier, Jon Voight, Dash Mihok, Eddie Marsan, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, and Graham Rogers. The series centers on professional fixer Ray Donovan (Schreiber), who’s working to be the man his family needs him to be. While he makes progress with Dr. Amiot (Alda), there are dangers from the past that require the Ray Donovan of old. Between NYC mayor Ed Feratti (Grenier), an unrelenting NYPD officer hunting for the truth and clients old and new, Ray struggles to find the balance between fixing for clients and fixing himself. And when Feratti’s corruption brings a piece of Mickey’s past (Voight) back to New York, Ray is forced to seek answers to long-buried questions.

I bit the bullet and paid for a subscription for 7 years just to be able to watch one show; Ray Donovan and judging from the many comments I’ve seen here and in many other forums across the web, I’m far from being the only one. I tollerated or ignored everything else on Showtime’s lineup just so I could watch Ray Donovan every week. Without Ray Donovan, Showtime is useless. Basically nonexistent. They should/could at least have the decency to follow Deadwood’s example and do a finale movie… Read more »
