More from Investigation Discovery:
(Pasadena, Cal.) – For 35 years, investigative journalist Maria Elena Salinas has brought stories to life that interest and affect America’s vast Latino community. The Emmy, Peabody, and Edward R. Murrow award-winning Univision News anchor has learned many things during her prolific career, but perhaps the most important lesson is that there’s always more to the story. That is why she is dedicated to seeking the truth by tackling compelling true-crime cases of the recent past as host of a new ten-part newsmagazine currently in production with Investigation Discovery (ID) from Scott Sternberg Productions and Lucky 8 TV. In THE REAL STORY WITH MARIA ELENA SALINAS, Salinas peels back the layers of national headline-making crimes in search of new evidence, unheard perspectives, and updates to the cases. Archival footage and recreations complement intimate, emotional one-on-one interviews with those closest to the case – some who audiences will remember from the original reporting and others who are speaking for the first time. THE REAL STORY WITH MARIA ELENA SALINAS will premiere on ID in early 2017. Concurrently, she will continue to co-anchor Univision’s network newscast, “Noticiero Univision,” and its weekly primetime newsmagazine “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now).
“ID is thrilled to welcome Maria Elena Salinas into the fold at ID, joining our growing roster of investigative journalists, from Paula Zahn, to Chris Hansen, to Tamron Hall, to Tony Harris,” said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America. “Maria Elena has become a, deservedly, trusted and articulate voice for Hispanic Americans at Univision – and, accordingly, we know ID’s fans will welcome her passion for finding the truth behind every crime because, as she well notes, ‘no story is as it seems.'”
“I am honored to join Investigation Discovery and its incredible line up of respectable investigative journalists,” said Salinas. “This unique newsmagazine gives me the opportunity to tread new ground in my investigative journalism career. I am looking forward to this opportunity that will allow me to expand my quest to tell stories that matter to a new audience while denouncing corruption, uncovering injustice and seeking the truth.”

But my voice is only one, I can prove that the entire Judicial System in Kern County CA. and in fact the State of California is corrupt and has been for at least 35 years. I have a personal story that would make a great show for Mrs. Salinas. I pray she has time or at least have someone call me about our cases. We have documents, recordings, Etc. about the corruption in Kern County. I am Latino and have been ignored by the judicial… Read more »
This is more for the editorial staff – there are no saguaros in Albuquerque or any where in New Mexico and there is no West Mesa, NM. It just refers to an area like northeast heights, downtown, old town, etc. Do your homework.
