What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC crime drama, Reef Break stars Poppy Montgomery, Ray Stevenson, Desmond Chiam, Melissa Bonne, and Tamala Shelton. The series centers on Cat Chambers (Montgomery), a former thief. These days, she works as the fixer for the governor of a beautiful Pacific Island paradise — “The Reef.” Thanks to her checkered past, Cat has a deep understanding of criminals and the crimes they commit. As a real risk-taker, she runs toward adventure, not from it.

Will ABC cancel or renew Reef Break for season two. The live ratings have been very low but, keep in mind that this is a French-American crime drama produced by ABC Studios and ABC Studios International, in partnership with French broadcaster M6. Other low-rated series have been saved from cancellation in the US, because they’re profitable overseas. That’s no guarantee of a renewal, but sometimes networks do have a higher tolerance for lower ratings, if they’re making some money on a show in other ways (see Ransom and Dynasty for recent examples). Keep Reef Break! Cat Chambers is just sexy enough to make the show fun, but not sleazy and the shows are a little mysterious and a little romantic. The perfect mix.

I’ve totally enjoyed Reef Break. What’s not to like? It has really good actors…characters…storylines and the scenery is wonderful. It’s a fun show. I love Poppy Montgomery and she is terrific in this! I HOPE that they’ll be smart enough to continue it. Fingers crossed!

ABC stop cancelling good viewing shows and only promoting game shows. You keep cancelling shows like Take Two, Whiskey Cavalier, etc. people need to be able to follow a show and basically be entertained by a good mystery or police show.
I totally agree!! I LOVED Take Two and Whiskey Cavalier! I also loved “The Fix” and “Deception”…which ABC canned. They do NOT give shows enough time to find an audience. If they don’t do great…right off the bat…then they cancel them. They’ve ended some really GOOD shows. This is SO frustrating! Just about the time I’m truly invested in one of these shows…they pull the plug. Kind of makes me wonder why I even bother watching new shows at all since this has happened so often. It’s disgusting….

I love Poppy Montgomery, but watching her trying to act like a sexy 25 year old is excruciating to me and my husband. Poppy, find something more intelligent and more fitting to your age and acting abilities. Cancel this loser!
