The AMC series has not been performing well in the ratings but, according to a listing in the Backstage industry casting paper, Rubicon has been renewed for year two. Here’s their info:
Rubicon (Drama, AMC) A think-tank analyst comes to the realization that his colleagues are not who he thought they were and may be a part of a covert organization secretly manipulating world politics and affairs. James Badge Dale stars. Casting: Avy Kaufman Casting, 180 Varick St., 16th Fl., New York, NY 10014. Premiered Aug. 1. Renewed.
Last Sunday’s episode attracted just a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 997,000 total viewers. That pales when compared to AMC’s Mad Men which scored a 0.6 demo rating and 2.1 million viewers.
The Backstage listing seems like it’s most likely a typo or error because, for now, they seem to be the only one saying there will be another year.
The season finale of Rubicon, “You Can Never Win,” is set to air next Sunday on AMC.
What do you think? Would you like to see Rubicon return for another year or should it be cancelled?

Great show and I sure hope its renewed.
My husband and I are breathlessly waiting for the return of Rubicon. Please renew the only decent drama on television. We have watched every episode and all the repeats. Please allow television to live up to its potential and continue this drama
Rubicon is one of the best TV series, both acting and production…. I work in DC and think this could be real?!
Please give Rubicon several more years!
We looked forward to Rubicon every Sunday and in fact have recorded the entire series. It is an excellent show with well fleshed out characters and good acting, Although the season finale had a few too many things – like Catherine beibg killed off (and why would an extremely wealthy woman be living unprotected and without servants/help in that strange apartment anyway??)
Anyway we sincerely hope AMC or another network continues the show
This was very upsetting news. This was one of the best acted series on television. I loved the slow pace that allowed the characters and subtle plot line to develop like a well crafted Graham Greene or John LeCarre novel. I looked forward to every episode. I really think that AMC has made a mistake. This could have grown into a series like Mad Men did. I would love to think that it is in fact “secretly” renewed.
Very smart show. Let’s keep this one, please. What will ‘Will’ do now that he found about his boss and his”4-leaf clover”. A goner. Who’s next? ???
Would love to see more of this show.
Yes, I hope to see season 2 and 3 and 4 and more in Holland.
RUBICON? SEASON TWO PLEASE!
Keep Rubicon, its one of the only intelligent shows out there, and we don’t have very many o f them
THIS IS THE MOST UPSETTING NEWS I HAVE HAD IN THE LAST WEEK. I LOST BOTH MY PARENTS IN THE PAST TEN MONTHS AND THE ONLY THING I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEASON TWO.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE NETWORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want more of this series. The drama, action and casting is brilliant. Much better than the usual mindless network television.
DEFINATELY.
Im from Argentina and i hope to see Rubicon return
I couldn’t wait till Sunday to see what happened next in Rubicon there’s few shows today that really give us suspense and this was one of them.
