The AMC series has not been performing well in the ratings but, according to a listing in the Backstage industry casting paper, Rubicon has been renewed for year two. Here’s their info:
Rubicon (Drama, AMC) A think-tank analyst comes to the realization that his colleagues are not who he thought they were and may be a part of a covert organization secretly manipulating world politics and affairs. James Badge Dale stars. Casting: Avy Kaufman Casting, 180 Varick St., 16th Fl., New York, NY 10014. Premiered Aug. 1. Renewed.
Last Sunday’s episode attracted just a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 997,000 total viewers. That pales when compared to AMC’s Mad Men which scored a 0.6 demo rating and 2.1 million viewers.
The Backstage listing seems like it’s most likely a typo or error because, for now, they seem to be the only one saying there will be another year.
The season finale of Rubicon, “You Can Never Win,” is set to air next Sunday on AMC.
What do you think? Would you like to see Rubicon return for another year or should it be cancelled?

Please, renew this show! It’s one of the best tv-series I’ve ever seen. It’s very-very important to proceed it! Watch at the rates of this show.
Please do not cancel Rubicon. With all the stupidity on TV, the show was a breath of fresh air. It was both though-provoking and entertaining. The network would be stupid to not to renew it.
In my opinion, Rubicon is the best show on TV. I have watched all the episodes at least three times. In order to fully comprehend what is going on, you must pay close attention to the script. I would love to see this series continue.
This show is so well written & acted that it made my heart race. It was as fine a show as the best written novel & it needs to be preserved.
Its ridiculous that they would not do another season of Rubicon! They make series upon series of silly, mindless shows, but keep cancelling stuff that is intelligent and entertaining. Bring Rubicon back!
it is rare to find a show that makes you think, why would they not give this show a chance? Not every show starts off as block buster, this one has the chance, great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this show was one of the few that made you think and keep you up in the air the whole time. it was well written and acted. by not being all action and at a slow pace, it let you get to know the people in it. to well written to let go.. i guess that most people who watch the “tube” just want to be spoon fed and then go to sleep. this show keep you up and, not what the most wanted, THINKING!!!!!!
I was really dissapointed when I found out this series was not returning. I guess a series that takes a little thought, and one that doesn’t have shoot-em-up or a laugh-track just doesn’t appeal to the masses. I will miss this show…..in just a short time – it had turned ino one of my favorites.
Rubicon was a great show. I really wish there would be another season. Very high quality writing and story. Great acting and characters as well.
I think Rubicon is one of the best shows on TV right up there with “The Good Wife” and “Southland” I can’t understand why the network putting this show out does not give it more time to build a fan base.
Having worked in the intelligence field, Rubicon was outstanding! Smartly written and considered. Unfortunately it is one of those shows that requires you to have some semblance of intelligence (IQ). It would be a terrible shame if it was not renewed. The acting was great – captured the analyst perfectly.
This was an excellent show – we never missed a new episode once we began watching. I’m very disappointed that it isn’t returning. At least we learned what the deep dark deeds were meant to accomplish.
How can you cancel a well written, intriguing, intelligent, compelling, edge of the seat dramatic series, and keep all of these worthless reality shows that comprise so much of the offerings on TV these days. PLEASE rethink this decision!!!!
liked it alot
We loved this show. Compared with all the garbage on the other networks, this one should have been renewed for multiple years. Obviously, a thinking-man’s program isn’t what AMC is aiming at. Hoping it will be picked up by another network.
