Last season, the Scorpion TV show saw a significant tumble in the ratings but CBS renewed the series anyway. Now, the network is moving the show to a later timeslot (when fewer people are watching television). Could Scorpion be cancelled or, is it sure to be renewed for a third season so there will be enough episodes for syndication? Stay tuned.
Based on real-life events, Scorpion revolves around computer expert Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. They’re this country’s last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats. The quirky masterminds have found the perfect job: a place where they can apply their exceptional brainpower to solve the nation’s crises, while also helping each other learn how to fit in. The series also stars Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Riley B. Smith.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/23 update: CBS has renewed Scorpion for a fourth season for 2017-18. Details here.
5/16 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Scorpion averaged a 1.77 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.64 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like Scorpion TV series? Do you think there should be a season four?
We love the show, hoping it stays on the air
I love this show. People need to stop with the negative comments. It is a TV SHOW,enjoy it! I love the acting, story, drama, love twists, cases they handle. Everything is perfect. A lot of fans will be disappointed if the show got cancelled. Just have faith they are right! 🙂
I really enjoy the show and I would love to see a season 4. I watch it with my mother and we always laugh and enjoy thoroughly. There are stretches, but they are fun and well placed. This is overall light humor and action that really adds joy to our Monday nights. Please keep Scorpion on the air! We love it!!
Loved scorpion last 3 seasons but this season and the Tim & Paige storylines are just a waste of time, and annoying.Paige used to be strong and now she runs around with him like à love sick puppy
I liked the show so much, I used it as the first show for my app (“Which 1 Are You?” available in the AppStore for iPhones) so my team at work could determine which of the characters on the show we were (it was a team-building exercise to take these online tests and compare results and personality traits, like which dog bread or which Star Wars character; we couldn’t find one for which Scorpion character, so I made up the tests and wrapped it in an app then added more tests). Anyway…love the show, the characters and the stories. I… Read more »
I love this show. They have such good chemistry with each other.
I’m tired of all the so called reality TV programs & it is refreshing to watch a series such as scorpion. I hope it isn’t going to be cancelled but I hate that it is on a later time.
The ratings are dropping because the humor isn;t funny and the soap olove life stuff is BORING
I’m just so scared they’re going to cancel it with the decline in the ratings (heard rumors from people saying it’s going to be cancelled, never a good sign). What are the chances of a season 4 and more?
should get a season 4 for syndication purposes, network RARELY cancel a show with 60+ episodes, which scorpion will have after this year
I practically leave my Mondays free so I will not miss scorpion and not just me but my kids n husband. The best show on television by far, needs to be a season 4
I’ve stopped watching, too much, what the writers call humor that is in reality silliness!
I have been a big fan of this show from the day it first aired. I am now retired and the one thing I really look forward to each week is this show. I love all of the characters. I will be so upset if this show gets cancelled. I am so wrapped up In this show that I have purchased both season 1 & 2 on DVD. I watch them over and over again and no matter how many times I’ve watched them, I still laugh, cry and enjoy the suspense and drama. This show has so many emotions… Read more »
the ratings are tanking and it was only moved from 9 to 10 pm. if they can renew Madam Secretary with its lousy ratings, they can renew this. Still, the ratings dropping that much is bad.
I busted happened upon scorpion one night, & I’ve been hooked every since. Great show, love the relationship twists, geeks are loveable too. This series reminds me of another special series that almost got canceled, anyone remember cheers???
Best show on TV so far the action the knowledge (some seem exaggerating) but it no doubt some great learning experience. Finally a TV show that doesn’t easy to predict how it turned out in the end of every episode, that’s fresh.
I love this show and hope it stays a around for a long time. I hate that it’s on at a later time. This is the one show I could sit down and watch with my kids and they love it. Now it comes on too late and they are alread in bed. We always dvr it and watch it later as do I many of the shows I watch. I wish the live ratings weren’t taken into account…I like to watch my shows when it is convenient. I never miss an episode of Scorpion. If this were to get… Read more »
