What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Paramount+ subscription service, the SEAL Team TV show stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, and Toni Trucks. The military action-adventure series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of their country. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Team members include Jason’s trusted confidant, Ray Perry (Brown Jr.); loyal yet self-destructive Sonny Quinn (Buckley); and young Clay Spenser (Thieriot), a multilingual and second-generation SEAL. No-nonsense DEVGRU Intelligence Officer Lisa Davis (Trucks) is assigned primarily to Bravo Team.
Season Five Ratings
On CBS during the 2021-22 season, the first four episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.47 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 19% in the demo and down by 12% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
On CBS during the 2023-24 season, the remaining episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.55 million viewers. Compared to season four, (which aired back in 2020 and 2021), that’s down by 72% in the demo and down by 60% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. Find out how SEAL Team stacks up against other CBS TV shows.
SEAL Team was renewed for a sixth season, which debuted on September 18, 2022 on Paramount+. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
SEAL Team drew low ratings in its fourth and final season on CBS and my understanding is that it was set to be cancelled. Instead, the execs renewed SEAL Team as an exclusive on Paramount+. It performed well enough on the streamer to be renewed for two more years. Season seven is the end. I don’t expect CBS to keep airing the series but, you never know. I’ll keep my ears open and an eye out for news, and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on SEAL Team cancellation or renewal news.

What do you think? Are you glad that the SEAL Team TV show has been renewed for a sixth season? How would you feel if Paramount+ had cancelled this TV series, instead?
Keep Seal Team!
Keep it
Viewership of the first four episodes on regular TV was down cause everyone knew it was moving to streaming and those not willing to pay for cable AND streaming did not want to invest their time.
Keep it! Only show I don’t have to listen to the “woke” BS. Will cancelParamount+ if it goes
Please don’t cancel Seal Team!!! It’s such a good show!
Enjoy the show keep it coming
Please don’t end series! It’s very entertaining. I like the story line. It can go many ways. I too specifically watch paramount for that reason.
Yes! Please!
Love this show! I added Paramount+ Specifically to watch Sealteam! This military show gives a true sense how much our military men and women give up personally for the love of their country. Please do not cancel!
Please keep the show rolling. SPOILER ALERT FOR SERIES 5 – now we know the Iranians are involved in the Venezuelan nuclear program, there are plenty of new stories to be told. There’s no other show close to this for intense realistic military drama so please don’t leave us hanging!
What? We specifically got Paramount + to watch seal team. Was this a ploy by CBS to shake money out of us, then cancel seal team, and hope er’ll all stay and keep paying monthly. Forget it. No seal Team. No Paramount+.
Apparently the ratings are down (on CBS before the switch to P+) so I fear we may lose our favorite show!
This is the one and only show I look forward to and truly would love to see a sixth season. From what I’m seeing in season 5 it looks like it’s coming to an end. Very disappointing. If there is a season 6 I can’t imagine how their going to spin it to keep it going. Hope to see a sixth season
With the newly disclosed Iranian involvement in Venezuela’s nuclear program there is definitely a story there to be told AND more importantly the issues between Jason and Clay need to be resolved. I can easily see an entire season 6 on these two subjects, maybe resulting in Jason stepping down, and then the show ends?
Got some potential spoilers in this comment….
I would love to see a sixth season, but I fear the show has just about told its story. I would hate for the Jason Hayes character to leave the show, but it’s hard for me to see what’s left for him. It seems that the show is pointing toward his stepping down.. Not seeing him as Bravo 1 doesn’t have much appeal for me. I don’t enjoy the episodes where he is not leading a mission nearly as much as when he is.
I also agree I hope they don’t cancel it I enjoy watching military shows my husband was in the military. I do agree that if they cancel the show so will my my subscription.
I hope they won’t cancel it. It’s a great show. This is the only reason I have Paramount +. If it’s cancelled, my subscription will be too.
Same here. I literally only subscribed to paramount plus for this show. I’m right there with you. They cancel seam team might as well cancel my subscription cause I’ll be leaving alone with Jason Hayes
Ill leave too!!!
