This TV show has been described as a mini-series but an executive producer of the Taboo TV show has plans for a second season. Will Taboo be a hit in the ratings for FX and BBC One? Will it be renewed for season two or will it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
Taboo is set in 1814 and revolves around an adventurer who returns to England. James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy) returns to London after spending 10 years in Africa. He finds that his father has died. Now, he’s set to inherit what is left of his father’s shipping empire — much to the consternation of his half‐sister Zilpha (Oona Chaplin), her husband Thorne Geary (Jefferson Hall), and the chair of the mighty East India Company, Sir Stuart Strange (Jonathan Pryce). Michael Kelly is also part of the main FX cast. The recurring cast includes Jessie Buckley, Jefferson Hall, Scroobius Pip, Edward Hogg, Leo Bill, Christopher Fairbank, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Richard Dixon, Jason Watkins, Nicholas Woodeson, Franka Potente, and Danny Ligairi.

What do you think? Do you like the Taboo TV series on FX? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Finally, a fresh story line, well produced, with exceptional acting from Tom Hardy, Johnathan Pryce and a host of others. It’s bold, daring and totally entertaining. I’m a fan and want more.
Taboo is an amazing show and hope they keep it rolling. I have not found a show that interests me since SOA
I think it’s brilliant! Dark, twisted, sexy, plot turns, double crosses…what’s not to like? Hopefully it will be renewed.
Finally a period series that is exciting, uunpredictable, filled twists &turns, and characters so ruthless, your compelled to watch every episode. Keep it on the air!
I really like this show. Very well done and I’ve been a Tom Hardy fan for a long time. He is superb in this. One of my most enjoyable shows to watch and I’m pretty picky. Really hope it gets renewed. I could watch a lot more of this.
You will enjoy this show if you dive in with an open mind. Season 1 is only 4 episodes in and I am already excited and curious about a season 2. I’m a huge fan of BOTH period dramas AND Tom Hardy! To be honest, I had a hard time following what was going on after the first episode (had to rewatch) but as of now, Taboo is definitely my favorite show on TV. After each episode I am disappointed I have to wait a whole week to see what happens next! LOVE the dark, back-alley of London/Jack-the -Ripper feel… Read more »

Love this show! Seems well paced to me.
Love this show and Tom Hardy! Please RENEW!!!
Taboo is wonderful, exciting and full of suspens. Not to mention Tom Hardy is yummy and an awesome actor. Please, please do not cancel the show. I want more taboo.
Boring and convoluted. Gave it three episodes. Should be yanked right now and definitely no season two!
Renew
Big Tom Hardy fan and will stick with this but so far it’s a big YAWN. It’s no wonder after all the hype that between the pilot and the second episode that it’s lost nearly half of it’s viewers and episode 3 even more a slight decline. This show is NO PENNY DREADFUL by any means..They need to pick up the pace hopefully by mid-season and eject some much needed action and special effects to support the frail supernatural premise the show is thinly built upon IMO. PENNY was slow with lots of dialogue, but it’s dialogue was more intriguing… Read more »
Erm, Penny Dreadful ratings were never that great to begin with. It still got renewed until the (indeed dreadful) season 3.
And Taboo is built on far more than ”a supernatural premise”. I suppose that it would be not a great hit now but will certainly gain a cult status in the future. Much like the first season of Peaky Blinders.
I don’t think the writers and creators of Taboo are aiming to be compared with Penny Dreadful..like.. at all lol. If the show was filled with action-packed stunts and big explosions or special effect monsters it would be comical; a JOKE. I believe they are catering to a more intelligent viewer. It is their goal to start off slow and then pick up pace with each episode. There is a supernatural element to it, NOT to the point of fictitious vampires and werewolves. As a viewer you are supposed to believe that in 1814, this all could have actually occurred.
Taboo is fabulous. The storyline is unique and intriguing . Tom Hardy is bar far one of the very best actors of our time and his portrayal in Taboo does not disappoint. He becomes the character to the extent you forget he is Tom Hardy. I am a true fan.
I agree! Tom Hardy is an awesome character actor. This show is getting me excited about an upcoming movie I hope is just as good! Has anyone heard of “Devil in the White City”? It was a fictional book about a very real H. H. Holmes (the most sucessful serial killer of all time with hundereds of victims, built a hotel during the Chicago worlds fair in the 1800’s with secret rooms so he could torture his victims etc). Leonardo DiCaprio bought the rights to the book years ago and they are finally starting production. I believe Leo is playing… Read more »
