It looks like the ride is over for Taxi Brooklyn. It’s been cancelled by NBC and won’t be returning for a second season this summer.
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.
The series debuted last June 25th to an unimpressive 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million viewers. The numbers didn’t improve over the course of the season which averaged a 0.9 rating in the demo and 5.0 million viewers.
The season finale of Taxi Brooklyn aired in September 2014 and there hasn’t been any official word from the network regarding the show’s fate. That’s certainly not a good sign, especially if viewers were hoping to see a second season this summer.
Late last year, executive producer Gary Scott Thompson indicated that things weren’t looking good and that they were “running out of time” — likely an indication that the cast contracts would soon expire. Earlier this year, he wrote that, “If history is any indication, we will probably never have official word” [on Taxi Brooklyn’s fate].
When reporting that Leigh had joined the pilot for Supergirl on CBS, TVLine noted that Taxi Brooklyn would not be returning to NBC for a second season.
NBC licensed the show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it but there’s been no word of that. Thompson has said that “it’s up to nbc.”

We just finished watching Season 1 without realizing there is no Season 2. We agree there should be a season to wrap things up or at least an episode. Probably too much time has passed for the original actors to return. Disappointed!
How could NBC do us like that? Excellent series, very captivating. My wife is devastated.
Would like a series finale at least. The characters had developed well and the stories had gotten very good. After the investment I snd other fans have made, we deserve some closure.

I watched all 12 episodes, got a kick out of the two lead characters who I though were terrific together…….a nice show, but shocked that it ended, and the way it ended………but the powers that be decided to cancel it…….the few friends who also watched it enjoyed it, serious story mixed in with light humor …….other shows which suck entirely get renewed, this show was a good one, which you let get away…shame on you

You can’t just end a show like that and not do a second season at least do something to make it look like it’s finished….There has to be a season 2!!!!
The show was awesome and many people would love to see a second season with the amazing actors who starred in it. The ending was obviously and tremendously awesome but sad that it left us in moment of despair. Isn’t there a way to bring it back? I mean, I’m sure many people now are agreeing that it should be brought back because we can see how good it is.
