Though many critics loved the FX series, Terriers just couldn’t attract enough viewers to stay alive. FX has announced the TV show has been officially cancelled.
Terriers follows a pair of unorthodox and unlicensed private detectives. They’ll take just about any job, no matter how small or how strange. The show stars Donal Logue, Michael Raymond-James, Kimberly Quinn, Laura Allen, Rockmond Dunbar, and Jamie Denbo.
The series debuted to a 0.5 rating among the 18-49 demographic and 970,000 total viewers. When compared to other FX shows, that was a poor showing right from the start. The numbers went lower for subsequent episodes and the recent season finale attracted a 0.3 demo rating and 784,000 viewers.
FX President John Landgraf is expected to discuss the decision later today but ultimately the reason for the cancellation seems quite clear.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Terriers won’t be returning for a second season? Why didn’t it catch on? Was it simply a confusing title or something more?

Bummer that was a great show bring it back fx try advertising it
Very sad to see all the Summer season shows starting and no Terriers! With all the shows wrapping up you’d of thought they would want some good new shows. Once you watched you understood the name( never let go). Too bad the network find.’t do the same. Loved this show!!
I just came on to check to see when it would be back and see it was cancelled. Too bad USA didn’t pick it up, they at least give their characters a chance.
gutted, great show, was really looking forward to s2.
that really sucks
Very Dissapointed in cancellation. Terriers had a very imaginative concept that was quite entertaining. Hopefully FX will have second thoughts should a time slot reopen
I loved this show. I wish it could have had a second season instead of leaving it in the air at the end of season one. Try advertising it more and I’m sure people would get hooked right away. It was an excellent show. Fx should deff reconsider season two or even another network.
Very dissapointed. Had my DVR set for tape entire series. Britt’s chick was worth viewing every week. She was awesome. The show always seemed to have 2 plots going at a time, And she was always involved.
Too bad. I really bought into this show. The characters felt real and the writing was top shelf. Maybe it was just too complicated for some folks. Each show got better. The story-lines were complicated, but it was never candy coated. These characters faced real problems with real consequences. I wish that FX would have done more to promote the show. But, it is understandable that with such low ratings it would get the axe. I just wish people could have better taste. It is very surprising to see some of the trash that people are willing to watch. Very disappointing news:( I loved Terriers, I dont think FX gave it a fair chance. I was saying the other day that I wasnt watching NBC or the regular networks anymore because they keep cancelling shows I like after only a short time now cable did the same thing:( YOU SUCK FX……
Too bad. I really enjoyed the show….. Alot of crap out there. Love that the show kept it realll
I am sooooooo disappointed! This was our favorite show!!!!! Boo on fx for keeping rescue me that has clearly outlived its time, but mixing terriers that was so new and refreshing!!!”
this show was great! Maybe if you advertised this show, it would have made it. No-one knew what it was or what it was about.
How upsetting!! Terriers was a great show, and was left wide open for a second season. The whole past year I wondered which way Britt and Hank would turn, but now I guess i’ll never know! Why did they cancel terriers, but continue to run stupid comedies that are not funny? Hopefully terriers will be picked up by another station!
I just found out there will be no 2nd season of Terriers! What an awesome show, I can’t believe they are not bringing it back! FX, y’all are making a huge mistake! Bring Terriers back!
