It seems that ABC has lost their appetite for The Taste. The network has cancelled the series and ruled out prospects for a fourth season.
The Taste is a culinary competition that pits professional and amateur cooks against one another in weekly challenges. The returning judges/mentors are Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Marcus Samuelsson.
A very moderate performer for the network, the first season aired in early 2013 and averaged a 1.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.51 million viewers. The network brought it back a year later and the ratings got much worse, averaging a 1.05 in the demo with 3.69 million.
Still, ABC execs decided to give it another chance and aired the third season over the winter holiday season, in December and January. The ratings were even worse and fell to an average of a 0.82 demo rating with 3.13 million.
Apparently those numbers were just too low to justify a fourth season of The Taste so they’ve cancelled it. The final episode aired on January 22nd.

I absolutely loved this show!!!! Me and my son looked forward to this every week. I just started searching to see when it was coming back on and found that it has been canceled! I loved the judges! It was of the only cooking competition show I watch! I am very disappointed and upset…..
so upset, have been looking forward to it coming on only to find it cancelled. The best cooking show on TV (and I watch them all) and now not on…for what??? more dumb sit-coms. C’mon NBC give me back my favourite show!!
Same here! I was scouring the Internet for air times thinking it was over due, then I found out it was cancelled.
I loved the Taste, as it gave home cooks a chance to show culinary skills. The mentors were funny especially Luca. I’m so tired of all the reality shows with no substance, like the Bachelor. People only wanna watch brainless shows. Very disappointed.

It’s a shame. I really enjoyed that show- poor Nigella picked the wrong people in the first season, and it haunted her in the last two. Anthony Bourdain’s overzealous attempt at being “edgy” on television became difficult to watch. Still wish they would have tried another season.
I love the Taste!!! I and my friends are watching it and it would be heart braking if there will be no more seasons!
The Taste was my favorite show. I’ve been waiting all year for the next season to come. Very disappointing, I hope another station pick up the show.
Why is it everytime ABC NBC or CBS has a decent show they cancel it and put on some dumb s*** that nobody really wants to watch people are getting so sick and tired of the dumb reality shows they’re being put on television that lack intelligence how about you guys bringing back the taste and getting rid of the other one other stupid show you got on and keep the taste thank you
I loved the Taste and thought it was really good. I am a fan of NIgella, but you need to replace her with another female professional. Nigella has lost in all 3 seasons, time for a change. The rest of the Chef’s are excellent hosts and mentors
I loved the first and second season of the taste but I did not like the rule changes made for the third season. but still it should not have been cancelled, please bring it back

I loved The Taste and felt it was one of the best cooking shows on Tv. I especially loved the mentoring, food tips, and the critiques of the Chef judges. I especially enjoyed their good natured competition. But then I’m not in your target age group. Retired single professor 60+. You folks R really missing out eliminating feedback from others like me!
I thoroughly enjoyed the show. It gave home cooks an opportunity to show their culinary skills. It is disheartening that it was cancelled. Perhaps it will be given another chance.
I enjoyed the taste very much. It’s a great competition and judging the bites by “the taste” alone was awesome. I will miss it.
