A&E has dropped Chloe Sevigny’s drama Those Who Kill from their schedule after two episodes.
Those Who Kill revolves around homicide detective Catherine Jensen (Sevigny) and academic forensic psychologist Thomas Schaeffer (James D’Arcy) who work to solve crimes in Pittsburgh. Others in the cast include James Morrison, Omid Abtahi, Kerry O’Malley, Bruce Davison, Kathy Baker, Michael Rispoli, and Anne Dudek.
The new detective series debuted to 1.4 million viewers. That was less than half of its lead-in, Bates Motel, whose second season premiere drew 3.07 million. Then, in week two, just 830,000 tuned in to watch Kill.
Now that Those Who Kill has been pulled, the cable channel will shift Bates Motel to the 10pm timeslot. A rerun will air at 9pm.
Though the ratings for Kill have been very poor, A&E hasn’t cancelled it. Though things certainly don’t look good, they reportedly believe in the show and want to find another timeslot where it can build an audience. That day/time will be determined later. There are eight unaired episodes remaining.
What do you think? Do you like Those Who Kill? Will you watch when it returns or, do you think it should be cancelled?
A female dirty harry…we loved the twist on the psyche of the lead actor. A good cop with the ability to have true emotions thanks to a twisted background. Pittsburgh scenes also special to a native of the steel city. Pleas bring it back…a little realisim is needed with all the scripted “reality” shows. Maybe as a bonus she could investigate the Kardashians with the same outcome as show # 1.
I loved the first two episodes. Please do not cancel. Can’t wait to find out where they will put the remaining episodes of season 1. I hope it catches on so we can get many seasons. The two main characters are well acted and very intriquing.
So happy LMN has the good sense and taste to air the series, Those Who Kill, starting tonite (Sun. 3/30/14) with the 3rd unaired episode. So everyone like me who really enjoyed the show, you can watch it starting tonite.
I am so happy. Hope LMN picks up the series permanently.
Yes, it’s true, LMN picked up this series….at least the first 3 episodes. I don’t know how we can keep it going except to email LMN, thank them and encourage them to continue airing it.
So sorry A & E didn’t give this show a chance, really enjoyed the 1st episode and looking forward to the 2nd. Typical of tv channels, give us lots of reality GARBAGE, silly childish comedies, but very little good dramatic programming, and then when they do, pull it after just 2 episodes. BRING IT BACK PLEASE………………………….:)
Pllleeeaaassseee……leave us something to watch and enjoy that makes us think.
I enjoyed the two episodes and was mystified when it did not appear in its scheduled spot for the third episode. The cast was good and the character developments were more dimensional than shows on network channels. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes.
I was also a big fan of The Killing and hope to see more of that, if there are any additional episodes.
Very intriguing and interesting show. Very complex characters and involving plotlines and back stories. Please don’t cancel this unique and well crafted show, it’s one of the most original shows on TV.
As others have stated- Give this series, which has a strong cast and intriguing story line, a chance! Not everyone who watches TV thinks watching utter stupidity like Honey BB and others of its ilk is fascinating and informative. Just go to WalMart if you do. Whatever happened to Arts & Entertainment?
I want to see the remaining 8 episodes.
It’s very frustrating when networks don’t give new shows a chance to build an audience. Shows like Cheers and Seinfeld took a couple of years to gain a following and look how successful they became. Back then networks were willing to give good shows a chance. Even thought they’re cheap to produce, not all of us are interested in watching all the reality nonsense that’s on i.e. Duck Dynasty, Honey Boo Boo, etc. Maybe networks should start putting a disclaimer at the beginning of each new show stating that if the ratings aren’t to their liking they will pull it… Read more »
Please bring back THE SHOW “Those Who Kill: It was facinating and I found it was well written and intriguing! Chloes character has many secrets to reveal and the mystery of her brother is one I must find out! Please find another time slot for this great show.
Bring it back, A&E. Looked forward to watching it after Bates Motel.
So sad!! Was looking forward to seeing episode 3 looked all over for it, just to find out it has been cancelled. BRING IT BACK!!!
I actually loved this show ! Well the first two episodes that I saw anyway. I about have been waiting to hear something about why it hasn’t been on these past 2 Mondays. I think they should put Those Who Kill on @ 9 and still keep Bates on @ 10. I love both shows and would really love to watch them both on Monday nights
I really enjoy the series don’t cancel the show I would like to find out what the deal is with the father.
I really liked that show. Most of the Danish mysteries I believe are very good. I do hope they find a spot for it.
