There’s more drama on the way for CBS . According to Deadline, the network has purchased a new drama series, Toward the Light.
The series comes from Michael Rauch, the executive producer and co-showrunner for USA Network’s Royal Pains. That series is believed to be ending with the upcoming eighth season which will air next year.
Toward the Light will be one of Rauch’s first projects under his two-year deal with CBS. The supernatural series is inspired by the non-fiction book of the same name. Here’s a description of the book by Amy Major:
Stories of ghosts and hauntings have frightened us since the beginning of time. Until recently, few have dared to contact the deceased and discover the true nature of earthbound spirits and the phenomena they create. Our understanding of the afterlife has evolved, and with it the reality that ghosts are just like us, facing many of the same problems we face every day. Spirit rescue mediums are “psychologists for the deceased,” helping them peacefully transition to the other side.
Rauch will write the adaptation and will executive produce with Jonathan Levin and Jason Egenberg.
What do you think? Do you watch Royal Pains? Based on Rauch’s work there, do you think you might like Toward the Light?
So excited for you! Very glad to see your special gifts highlighted this way.
Love the show idea and will definitely watch. Amy, the author of book show is based on, is a wonderful lady doing great work.
i am so sick of all the paranormal and ghost shows that have taken over the SyFy channel and now they want to be on a network show? I am sick of them.
Spirit rescue is a very interisting subject. I will be sure to watch.
Never watched Royal Pain. Not my cup of tea. LOVE the new show idea, “Toward the Light”. I loved “Ghost Whisperer” so I’m sure I will love “Toward the Light”. Looking forward to it. I love “Supernatural” and I loved “Dominion”, which Syfy too off! Really ticked me off that they did that. I hope CBS gives “Toward the Light” a chance. Most stations are ridiculous about pulling good shows because they don’t get the ratings they want. What about those of us who love the shows that the stations pull? Most times leaving us without closure on those shows.… Read more »
