Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

dammit! falling skies got kinda boring so we were anticipating the return of “V” and find this out?! stuuuupid!
Agree that cancelling the show was a mistake. Very disappointed.
i think thay should bring v back it was good never missed a show bring it back
That was one if the few shows I watched !! I had to DvR it but I loved that show!!!!
No idea what the network bozos were thinking…. they sat on a goldmine here. People with taste were actually enjoying TV again.
Sad truth is that reality shows are cheaper to produce… Just put a few monkeys in a room together and offer them a banana: cash… As long as the majority of people actually keep accepting reality-show dirt like “dancing with the stars”, “big brother”, “Idols” or whatever, nothing will change.
TV imho is a dying medium…. it lost me for one.
ABC has a bunch of MORONS running it. From moving Monday Night Football to ESPN, which was stupid, to cancelling a good series and keeping dumb shows, i.e. Mordern Family. This is no wonder why ABC is failing to attract viewers. If I were running the company, i’d fire all those execs.
I will NOT be watching ABC any longer. Not that there was ANYTHING to watch! All there is left, on tv worth watching is Falling Skies and The Walking Dead. This is a load of BS!!
So, let me get this straight. They can’t risk finishing off the “V” series and regaining its investment in cult-following DVD sales, but they risk calling Chaz Bono a “celebrity” (when she had done nothing noteworthy) and put her on Dancing With The Stars causing our family to boycott the show? What the hell is ABC doing? I am also thinking of ditching ABC. All I have been watching lately is the news, and I can get that on several channels. Bad choices, ABC, bad choices.
I am deeply saddened the Vistors will not return…I hope they at least give a Final movies to close off all the loose ends….
“V” is one of the few things I canget my husband to watch, What the heck is abc doing. At least do a finnaly for the show, we want answers to what was to come. After all the crap ABC and other network are cramming down our throat, they could at least put this show to bed with a finnaly. I am sick and tires of reality TV, shows to cautch the viewers of LOST with outragest plots. This is one show that was done with the viewer in mind. Hell even the History, Science, and Discover Channels are doing… Read more »
CBS… I’m done with you! There are hardly any decent shows on TV (non cable) and I had been looking forward to the return of V. This bites!
I believe this was ABC not CBS…
This is outrageous! “V” was a great show. These TV execs are a&&holes! Half the shows they have on now SUCK!
Seriously, I can’t express my disapointment. Can they at least post the season 3 script so I can read what will happen next?
This was an awesome show! Since it has been cancelled, so has my watching ABC! Good bye ABC…
I bought the series and was dissappointed there will not be a season 3. Insane!! Please! I hope another network picks it up… how about Syfy?
