Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Was a great show. Really upset at the cancellation. all was up in yhe air. CYFY did such a good job with battlestar galatica, and doing a womderful job with stargate universe i wish they would take it over and finish at least season three.
what a horrible decision. Its not like abc has such a stellar lineup that they can afford to dump a series with high potential! Typical Disney…
I am very disappointed. I waited with baited breath to watch this show develope. ABC was too hasty in their decision. WE WANT V…WE WANT V
ABC never gave the show a chance. People were just starting to get into it and now they cancel. This sucks, It kept you on the edge of your seat every episode and now will never know what happens. It would be nice if they would allow for viewers to vote for the show to be cancelled or not, not just based on ratings.
It was a great show. If it didn’t catch on then it’s the ABC marketing department’s fault. Now, we who really enjoyed (and supported it), have to do with out.
I’m so piss right now that the show is gone at least they could have ended it another way if you were not going to bring it back I WANT THIS SHOW BACK ON OR AT LEAST PUT THE FIHISH THE STORY ON DVD
WTH!! CANCELLED!!! IT WAS AWESOME AND WE WANT IT BACK!!! IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS WE HAD…YOU PEOPLE SUCK AT DECIDING WHAT SHOWS CAN CONTINUE…OR NOT………..GET IT BACK ON…WE LOVE IT!!!!
why? why? why?
are you kidding me, casting excellent! writing awesome! we wan’t more, more , more……………..pleaseeeeeeee.
This series started out very cool….unfortunately, ABC along with every other broadcast station refuses to do anything online which is where the coveted demographic now resides. HULU is where I was watching the show. If broadcast stations would catch up with the technology, I would have been watching streaming episodes from their website. HULU is better though because you can browse multiple channels and select what you want at your fingertips.
Bring back V NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not kidding
Abs sucks, V kicked ass. The show was well done, including casting and story line. They’ll probably replace it with some other boring sitcom. TV isn’t what it used to be.
I think it’s disgusting that sci-fi after sci-fi show is cut before the story is cut before completion of a story. T.V. Companies will at some point begin to reap what they sow when viewers will not watch new shows because they fear they will be axed within a couple of seasons.
I agree with this comment. The execs need to brain storm, like for instance if a show is failing and needs to be cancelled fine. But have a emergency budget set aside to make a grand finale and sell it on dvd only and generate sales of the whole series on disk…
I thought everything about V was excellent!!! It kept me torqued up with tension through each episode. I could never guess what would happen net. The characters were compelling. They were the hook and the story was the the line which the writers and producers used to reel me in.
i am sad not to see V again i’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting just to know that there will be no more waiting cause of the cancellation, ABC please consider to bring it back…..bringggggggggggg itttttttttttttttt backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk pleaseeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
This is terrible news, been looking forward to the return of this show for ages and genuinely disappointing with ABC that this is not coming back, what were they thinking.
