Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I am very disappointed that “V” was cancelled- I enjoyed the show and watched it everyweek with many of the others that commended here- I wish I could convince ABC to bring “V” back!!!
I have been looking for thr return of V and now I see you cancel it. I think I will just cancel ABC
I just now remembered to see when they were hopefully starting “V” again! The same as everyone else, I am disappointed and sad. From time to time this keeps happening. They should at least try and rap up the loose ends of the stories before completely canceling, like a two hour deal or something. I don’t know what is all involved for keeping shows going with ratings and all, but I do know that they have changed things. On purpose at times,to get rid of a show, they play them on certain days or hours to try to get minimum… Read more »
Abc r a bunch of idiots!!!!
WHHHHYYYYYYYY?????? We have been waiting for the new season to start. Please bring “V” back!!! And if you cancel “Once upon a time” I will cancel ABC on my TV!!
I´d been watching V out of the U.S. and was hoping to find out when the 3rd season would finally come out and then sadly i found out it had been cancelled . It really sucks that abc left us all waiting and wandering on what eas gonna happen next on the show.
I am so upset that V has been cancelled. I had no idea until today. I just got done watching season 2 on DVD with Netflix and the ending was a huge cliffhanger! And now I find out I will never know! Why do they have to always cancel good shows 🙁
5. whatever million viewers arent enough? really?!
Yes, I am sad that V has been cancelled. My husband and I REALLY enjoyed this show!
Loved Anna!
I am so, so pissed at ABC. I just watched the finally after waiting a year to get the second season because living in Hawai’i there’s no reason to be watching tv when you can play in the Sun, Jungle, and Sea. Never-the-less, I can’t believe I bought the two seasons only to be Completely let down and ripped off, I loved them but Please.. don’t buy it if you haven’t yet..you’ll only be disgustingly let down. Now that Lost and a few of their “hits”are done, i’m refusing to watch ABC all together. Who the Hell do they think… Read more »
I don’t trust the networks anymore. They get us interested in a series, only to yank it., prematurely IMO. I feel NOT WATCHING ANY NEW SERIES until it’s in its 7th Season. It does not pay to become invested in any new Series until after it’s outlived its 6th Season. I don’t think I’m alone in this opinion. I’m peeved that “V” has been cancelled.
WHAT THE HELL….. I was wondering why there were no previews on tv…. I feel like a junkie with no way to get my fix. The show was getting better and better each episode.. I only hope some one will pick it up to finish what ABC can’t
I LOVED “V”!!!!!!! And I don’t LOVE many TV Series. I Love “Once Upon A Time”, “Grimm”, “Hawaii 5O” “Mike & Molly” and am still giving Two & 1/2 Men’s 9th season, a chance. I CAN NOT STAND those inane, stupid, superficial, shallow, choreographed, so called reality shows. What a waste of time, they are. All they do is show how decent people should never behave. A bunch of spoiled women, married to rich men, trying to one up each other. Get a life, people! Even the news channels would be better to watch than that tripe. Still hanging on to “American… Read more »
Dawg, I was hoping they would at least end it the right way. I knew it was gonna fail when it took to long to develop. There were too many ways for that type of show to go. You really need to move thru it and bring some closure to the basic concept early so if you decide to go on you can write a branch story. I don’t watch ABC for any thing else anyway. What I am burned out on is this “reality” crap. It’s scripted. Maybe they need a show, Surviving with the American Idol, Dancing, Big… Read more »
Damn, I just found out that the show was cancelled. I enjoyed the original series , but the new one was even better. How could they just leave us hanging like that.
I completely agree. Please excuse me while I recess into a depressed state. T.T they always cancel good shows!
THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING NEWS.
