Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Why was V cancelled? I don’t watch much TV because all that’s on now are the so called “reality” TV shows. There’s nothing real about them…they’re all so phony. The one show I did look forward to watching every week was V. The networks need to bring back the good shows like V and get rid of all the dumb “reality” TV shows.
I’m very disappointed that this series was cancelled! It was one of just a couple of shows that I watch! Most of what is on TV is terrible. A great opportunity has been lost with the cancelling of this awesome show.
I liked the show. I was looking forward to seeing it again. I think it stinks that they canceled it.
I was looking forward to another exciting ride with the V’s. Sorry that they canceled such a great show that kept me on the edge of my seat every week. I’m glad I got season two on dvr.
I dont understand why the ABC cancelled V then replace any comedy crap whicch is not quality comedy but acting dumb comedy or this fake reality show which is scripted. So sad that good shows out and dumb , preverted, cheap shows last long made til 7 -8 season which make no sense, reality show like bachelor, wake up people life isnt like that people hard to make $7-8. So scripted women are fighting wiith their attitude, people who cant sing won america idol, this is so pathetic. See how dumb people preper those kind of shows, in fact they… Read more »
Whose bright idea was it to cancel the one show I looked forward to more than any other and does this moran still have a job at ABC ?
Really blows that V was tanked. Great show. To bad that the powers to be at ABC are out of touch with the viewing pubic. No wonder they are last in the ratings.
I can’t believe you cancelled V one of descent tv series to look forward to like Jericho, Terranova, etc. I don’t understand good quality shows been replaced by comedy crap make people act look stupid and whackjobs or reality show which is scripted and fake.what gets me these last longer, either the production low cheap cost shows or how people who vote these shows how stupid. What shows show itt reflects what kind of society we have.
That blows!!!! Really enjoyed the series,I think maybe if aired at diffrent season it would have worked. Please bring back one more time
Why do you do this? How shows have you made the people watch then yank off??? Too many! I extremely enjoyed this show with the characters and plot. You should of at least did a final show to give the viewers closure. What the heck happened? Thanks Again for a cancel without an ending!!!
I just finished the last episode of V season 2. Love the show. Totally sucks that they cancelled it. I would love to see what happens. They left it with basically the end of humanity. Come on you can’t reveal a secret government agency last episode and then cancel. At least do one last healthy season to wrap it up. If there is one thing that I can’t stand is networks doing a show with no end. They all do it. To many shows not enough conclusions.
I’m extremely disappointed. I was looking online to see when the show was going to start and I find out its canceled. My hubby and I are in the 20-30 demographic and we watch it with my parents and they in the 50-60 demo. Now we will never know what will happen next. Its like missing the last pages of a good book.
Thanks a lot…..
Bring back V, Me and my wife love the old and the new V. You had something here with cast and Liz Mitchell was wonderful. I’m sick and tried of you networks ABC, Fox cancelling good shows and not giving them a chance, remember Star Trek what happened ! you could of changed the time slot. Thanks, Gemini
So disappointed. Hubby and I are in the 50-60 year old demographic and we looked forward to V! Get rid of some of the nonsense garbage tv and bring back V.
I am so disappointed that V was cancelled. It’s the only show I looked forward to.
