Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Bull …. For canceling!
We have got to watch so much crap on tv and every once and awhile a good show comes on and they cut it to make room for more crap!!!! Thanks for nothing
I loved the show. Instead all we have to watch is networks that exploit people looking for husbands and wives, people looking for a career in singing, and people losing weight!
I really liked the show and I am also upset that it has been cancelled. The actors were great and they made the show believable. We have enough raunchy reality shows and craziness on TV, this was a show that I and my family look forward to viewing every week. You messed up big time ABC when you cancelled V. Please reconsider bringing it back for a third season and beyond.
Figures. There was a good run of good shows for a little while like persons unknown and v. Finally there was something on besides reality shows that didn’t last long. Maybe this should be a note to all of us that abc or any other tv company doesn’t really care what people like. At least we still have falling site on tnt.
I really liked the show and am so upset that it was cancelled. Why !?! V was a great show and it’ just a shame it is over.
I say bring it back and stop canceling good shows.
I think Rick P. has a point.
Please bring V back!!!!!
Waiting patiently for season 3 and low and behold it’s not happening. I suppose there just wasn’t enough nudity, swearing and women tongue kissing one another for today’s viewers. Oh well back to “Leave it to Beaver”…..I’ll surely miss Morena Baccarin.
I am devistated that this show was cancelled. I am a huge fan of the orignal V series and was very exicited to the original actors play a role in this new version of V. I would hope that the network would reconsider their decision.
I am not surprised that they cancelled the show. A good sci-fi show that probably would have caught on even more with the whole alien / apocalypse thing happening in 2012. If you are not a reality show that gives me instant ratings, then I must cancel you. That’s why I don’t even want to watch network TV anymore. Insanity rules at these networks!!! They have no clue!!!
So So So sick of wonderful exciting and interesting shows getting cancelled, Like V…,FlashForward, & Heroes! I actually Cried when the cancelled Heroes!
Everytime I find something I can watch with my kids that we are really into, the network cancels it but a show like LOST could stay on what seemed like forever, and they have a fat star be stranded on a desert island for YEARS…and still be FAT! Give me a damn break! Who are these rating coming from? No body asked our opinion!!!
V was a terrific show. I just am so sick of these networks cancellling these shows without at least ending it. It would be considerate of them to finish a series with an ending.
everyone knows they can do it if they even considered the amount people that do like the show and fathfully watch it. I have a hard time now even watching a new series. What for? It might be dumped before they end it.
I guess I’m a little late but wanted to express my disappointment that V was cancelled. I really like that show, there is a complete lack of Sci-Fi nowadays 🙁 It’s too bad everyone is still reality tv crazed! This is like the 4 series I’ve started to watch that eventually ends with any resolution!
ABC cancels all their good shows even the new ones. First it was the soaps AMC and OLTL then it is V and No Ordinary Family. I loved One Life To Live and I finally liked V an No ordinar Family and I would like to see the answers to the cliffhangers. ALl. ABC does is cancels shows. This network sucks.
LOok at how many people voted No above !!!!! Surely that must count for something
