Lincoln Heights: Castmembers Talk about TV Show Cancellation

Lincoln HeightsIt was recently revealed that ABC Family had decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons. What do the actors think about the news, that they won’t be going back to film a fifth round of episodes? The answer might surprise you.

Lincoln Heights revolves around Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) and his family who move back to his old neighborhood. The rest in the cast include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.

Fans of the ABC Family series may be very upset that Lincoln Heights isn’t continuing but some of the actors seem to be okay with it. While they’re disappointed that their time on the series is over, they’re mostly grateful to have been a part of it.

Adamson, who plays neighbor and boyfriend Charles Antoni on the show, wrote, “I haven’t posted my thoughts about the recent Cancellation of Lincoln Heights, simply because I haven’t really known what to say. I am at peace with it. All good things must come to an end and Lincoln Heights was a great thing. I was given a character of real depth and purpose, not simply a pawn or tool to push a storyline or agenda. You have no idea how rare that is for a man of my age. I believe the story has been told. It was told with passion, vigor, and with the committed convictions of the writers. They were all unique with a dedicated voice. I only ever wanted to be truthful in my portrayal of Charles, because I have so much respect for the hardworking cast and crew. I learned much. I’m sure there are those out there who are disappointed with ABC Family’s decision to pull the show. Don’t be. TV/Film Entertainment is a business. The show is and will remain a success.”

Brown posted a video on YouTube to express her feelings. Take a look…

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with the actors? Are you upset that the show is over or just thankful that it survived for four seasons?

No this show should not be cancelled. There are many topics that has been touched on real lives in the world, throught the episode I watched from seasons 1 to season4. I was able to watch all seasons on Netflix with my step-daughter and son, that I never seen before and looking on the internet when season 5 should start was heart breaking. I enjoyed the bonding and talking we did while watching. There should be a continuation of this family trials and testimonies that inspires people to make better choice and live productive lives.

I Actually think that they were scared of this black show was about to define theyre whole network …. look at what they did to Family Matters they gave it to CBS I aint nowhere near prejudice but I just pay attention to detail and for the sake of an argument . I am a super big Kyle XY fan my fav show and you give no absolute reason why the show was cancelled thats evidence enuff for you

I’m not a fan of the ABC network, but I was injured 2yrs ago, right when Lincoln Heights was premiering. I had the chance to finally watch all 4 episodes in the last week Now that I was able to finally see the show. To my amazement, you guys cancel it. Come on now, abc never really have anything positive to watch, and you finally do and u cancel. As a concerned viewer and grandmother; We really need shows like Lincoln Heights on the air, and Netflix. Please with the original cast or someone that can surpass their acting standards. Thank you.

This was a wonderfully written show filled with real life issues at home at work and in the neighborhood. It was such a positive show ti sit and watch. I find it hard to believe that it was cancelled. really this is the kind of show that america should support its not filled weith sex and violence its filled with real life situations obstacles and very family oriented. America needs to bring the kids back in off the street. Take the video game out the kids hands sit down as a family and have some real enetertainment to keep there attention. Me and my family loved it. Me and my battle buddies when I deployed loved watching the whole season un interrupted by commercials. I absolutly loved this show and i am saddened by its cancellation.

If you are not going to ra-air Lncoln Heights or allow another channel to have access to the reruns. Then why don’t you allow all 4 seasons available to buy and not just season one.
