NBC has issued an early renewal for its Wednesday night drama Medium. This will be the fourth season for the Patricia Arquette series. Though the series does not usually win its timeslot, it does typically build on its lead-in Crossing Jordan in the key 18-49 demographic.
NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly stated, “Medium is a quality show with an outstanding star that has always delivered a very loyal audience. We are pleased to know that we can look forward to more of its unique storytelling next year under executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron’s superb creative vision.”
It’s unknown as yet how many episodes the peacock network will order or if Medium will be held back as a midseason replacement (as was the case this season). NBC ordered six advance scripts a few weeks ago, likely in an attempt to plan for a potential writers’ strike in the Fall. Their schedule plans will likely be influenced by that possibility as well. The network announces its 2007-08 schedule next week. Any predictions? Stay tuned!

My wife and I watched this every week. NBC should be promoting it instead of shifting it around. How they are treating Medium is a good snapshot of what’s wrong with the programming and promption on NBC and why they had a terrible year last year. Bring this show back and promote it right. This is quality television entertainment with some meaty subject matter. NBC can’t see the forest for the trees.
Medium is such a relief to watch. Reality TV needs a channel all it’s own. Don’t let the good shows go to the waistside because of them. Please keep it going. Time and night don’t matter thanks to Tivo!!
I don’t watch much TV any more because I do not like reality shows, but I always enjoyed Medium and really miss it. I have been looking for it for quite some time now. I am glad it is coming back in January but sure wish it was earlier. The show is riveting and yet the family is energetic and real. Please bring it back soon and keep it on schedule. Sincerely
Medium is such a well crafted show, and a great deal better than that ‘go towards the light’ series on another channel which is receiving a lot of preview press. Too bad I haven’t seen ANY previews for Medium. What’s up?

I have always loved Medium and I’ve read Alison’s books. This is so much better than what is perceived as reality tv, which I will not watch. I love the old sit coms and miss them but, I also love crime fighting and read that kind of novels and also the supernatural. I find medium the perfect (excuse the pun) medium. So please don’t EVER take it off. I love it. It’s better than a modern day Agatha Christie. Bring It On!!

Medium is simply riveting television. Anyone who has had a paranormal experience can’t help but be a fan, and even those who have not, like my wife, can really get hooked. The acting is superb. The stories are well written. Bravo to the whole Medium crew! Excellent work!

i really like this show, but it is not in a good time slot due to my work etc. i would like to see it on friday at 800 or wednesday at 800pm. well whatever time you put it on, i will just have to tape it like i have to do a lot of times now. i love the husband, he is so understanding with her visions and dreams. i love to watch this show, glad it continues on.
