Though the third season of The Sing-Off didn’t do very well in the ratings, the show clearly has a devoted fan base. I see new comments on this site lamenting the cancellation each week.
Well, NBC is bringing The Sing-Off back for a fourth season, reports EW. A new casting site has been made and groups are already registering to take part.
There’s no word yet on when it will air or if Nick Lachey will be back as host or if Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles or Shawn Stockman will return as judges. We do know however that Mark Burnett Productions will work on the fourth season. Lachey is actually already committed to hosting another singing show for NBC.
Based on the poor ratings of season three, it seems like a good bet that NBC will bring The Sing-Off back as a limited run series scheduled around the Christmas holiday season.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that The Sing-Off is returning? Is it better than the other singing competitions?

“loved” the show, judges and host. Hope to see this show again in 2013.
i found this show on youtube because of pentatonix and i’m really glad it’s coming back! they did some amazing things with songs. idol is boring because all the songs are really old and the voice is more about the judges than the contestants.
I just really don’t get it. WTF is with all these singing shows? You already have the voice and Nick is already doing a different one? Is it because american idol is finally dying down? This sounds more like Jack Donagee ideas, and those shows were hilarious, as they were just fictional shows in a fictional show. Do you see what I’m getting at, enough of the singing shows already, please, I’m begging you.
Peter Hollens – the most successful individual contestant from the Sing Off – make him the new host! or a new judge (he does that for a living already)
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! GO PTX!!!
Awful show! Really hope they bring Deal or No Deal back one day! I did not like this show!
Glad it’s back. Best singing show hands down. It definitely displays talented groups. Last years winner will be in Denver later this month. “Idol” is a joke this year and I can’t get into “The Voice”.
