While the ratings for The Voice have come down, it is still the network’s most successful show. We all knew that it would be back next season and now, NBC has confirmed it will return this fall.
A singing competition that’s hosted by Carson Daly, The Voice typically airs twice a week — usually on Monday and Tuesday nights. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams returned as coaches in season eight — as did original coach Christina Aguilera after a two season absence. Team advisors are Ellie Goulding (Team Adam), Lionel Richie (Team Pharrell), Nick Jonas (Team Christina), and Meghan Trainor (Team Blake).
The Fall 2015 editions of The Voice gave the network their best ratings but both the Monday and Tuesday airings were down year-to-year. The Monday editions registered a 3.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic (down 23%) with 11.91 million viewers (down 3%). The Tuesday editions drew a 2.98 demo rating (down 20%) with 11.52 million (down 6%).
Thus far, the current spring edition is also down year-to-year though the numbers typically improve for the final shows. The Monday editions are averaging a 3.19 demo rating (down 11%) with 12.02 million viewers (down 5%). The Tuesday episodes are averaging a 2.98 rating (down 6%) with 11.93 million (down 2%).
