The network’s still doing well so CBS is playing it safe once again this fall. The Tiffany network is introducing very few new shows this year and sticking with most of the old favorites. Here’s what won’t be back for the 2007-08 season:
Armed & Famous – The short-lived celebrity cop show was pulled from the air back in January. All existing episodes have been aired on VH1 or CBS and there won’t be any more.
The Class – This show was devoutly loved by its fans but they were too few in number. CBS is committed to one night of comedy which means four sitcom slots. CBS chose to try one new series and renew four others with higher ratings than The Class
Close to Home – This crime drama has been rumored to be in trouble for months and, unfortunately, the rumors were true. The final episode (#44) aired last Friday.
Jericho – The Skeet Ulrich drama about a small town following a nuclear disaster started off strong but lost viewers when it returned from hiatus. The series finale aired on May 9th, 2007. Episodes are available via iTunes and from Amazon.com.
The King of Queens – The Kevin James sitcom ended its run on Monday night after nine seasons and 207 episodes. Over 13 million watched.
Smith – The Ray Liotta series was the first to go after airing just three episodes. All seven episodes are available on iTunes and Amazon.com.
3 lbs – The Stanley Tucci medical drama replaced Smith and lasted just three episodes. Tucci has been cast in a regular role on NBC’s ER however. All eight episodes are available via Amazon.com
Waterfront – Remember this one? The drama starring Joe Pantoliano as a colorful mayor in Providence, R.I.? Five episodes were completed but it was canned before even one episode aired. Talk about a fast cancellation…
Returning series are: Cold Case, Criminal Minds, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Ghost Whisperer, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, Numb3rs, Rules of Engagement, Shark, 60 Minutes, Survivor, Two and a Half Men, The Unit and Without a Trace.
The Amazing Race and The New Adventures of Old Christine will return midseason (January) or earlier. Stay tuned!

I can not believe THE CLASS got axed! That by far was the best show on TV… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANOTHER NETWORK PICK IT UP!!!!
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savetheclass/index.html Here is a petition to save The Class. Like many of you, I am tired of watching stupid televison. American Idols, Survivors, I don’t care about them. The Class was some of funniest stuff I have ever watched. It really had the potential of Friends. It is a great show and I think with enough support we may be able to get it back. If not, nothing is worth watching anymore. I have felt this pain one too many a time. Tru Calling, Reunion, Love Monkey, and so many more shows that I loved and had to say goodbye… Read more »
I really liked The Class. They made a HUGE mistake cancelling it and keeping “yucky” Christine. I turn the channel when that show is on. The bigger mistake was cancelling Jericho. It was so original and refreshing. The networks have lost their minds. Some of them even have the nerve to blame early daylight savings time for their low ratings. WAKE UP!!! The viewing audience is tired of getting interested in a new show only to have it throw away for TRASH such as reality shows…Personal opinion:)
Although I truely enjoyed every episode of The Class, I think it was the 3rd episode (The Class Learns About Hurricanes) that is my favorite. The is still on my DVR! When I need a pick me up, I watch it! It is one of the best shows ever, not just from this season.
Then there’s Jericho… It was fabulous.
So many shows die before their time: Tru Calling, Firefly, Wolf Lake, Wonderfalls…
Please, a cable network – pick up some of these fabulous shows from this 2006-2007 season – PLEASE!
I CANT BELIEVE YOU HAVE CANCELLED JERICHO!! I LOVED THAT SHOW! OH PLEASE BRING IT BACK, U LEAVE US HANGING AND THEN CANCELL, WHAT BS!!!BAD DECISION ON THIS ONE, I HOPE YOUR READING ALL THESE COMMENTS ON JERICHO AND THE CLASS.U HAVE TO BRING THEM BACK FOR THE FANS! PLEASE!!!!!
The Class and Jericho were two out of four shows I watched on CBS. I get frustared when networks don’t give decent shows a chance. The Class had some potential. Shame on you CBS. Now that they are gone and King of Queens is finished. It looks like one half hour on monday nights is all you will get from me.
The Class was the only comedy worth watching. I am really going to miss it. It was also the only show on your network I watched on Monday nights. So my guess will be you will show more blood and guts whoopie.
I agree with all comments above about “The Class”. Why in the hell would CBS cancel this show? It was a breath of fresh air from all of the idiotic reality shows. It was my “Friends” replacement. Now there is nothing on CBS worth watching. Ghost Whisperer, the CSI’s, and Survivor should have been cancelled. Not “The Class”. Shame on you CBS. You really f**ked up this time!
I cant believe this. They have canceled two of the great shows the class and jericho. I loved watching how i met your mother and then the class. And come on jericho is so much better than hereos or lost! hopefully cbs changes there minds.
Why would CBS cancel a show like Jericho, and keep the idiotic shows that have no plot, no brains, and no thought behind them? Time to watch cable and give up on network television.
I can’t believe that The Class has been cancelled and yet The New Adventures of Old Christine is going to continue. The Class was an great show! And Old Christine is just not worth watching.
I cannot believe you guys cancelled Jericho and Close to Home. I have been loyal to CBS. You guys have the only network shows I watch.
I guess it is time to either start renting DVDS again or change networks.
Your exec’s are making some poor choices as to what to keep on the air.
Very disappointed!
The Class was the most original comedy in years and actually had substance, unlike most sitcoms. CBS, you goddamned idiots are f**king stupid. f**king idiots need to spend more time looking at what the people want instead of lubing your dicks and ******** up and f**king eachother every meeting. ******.
Having cancelled Jericho it’s quite obvious what fools they are.
Now i really understand why CBS is exponantially going to the deep. What kind of a sick mamagement is that? Jericho is one of the most popular TV series around the world. Every new day it finds new fans. I live in Turkey and people began to prefer Jericho to Lost or Heroes!
By this decision they really are blaming a huge DVD profit and i believe they are going to lose so many viewers.
Hang on this show, give it back to the World.
