500 Questions is coming back for a second season. ABC has decided to renew the game show after a successful first season in May. On the game show, contestants need to answer 500 general knowledge questions without missing three in a row.
The show comes from Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell, and it will return to ABC in 2016. Both men expressed their excitement over the game show’s renewal, according to Deadline.
Darnell said, “When we created 500 Questions, our hope was to bring the event game show back to primetime. Thanks to ABC, we had a great summer run and achieved that goal. We are excited that the show is coming back for a second season.”
Mark Burnett added his comments, but he praised the contestants. He said, ” I am so glad we are back; I love this game show event. To win, these geniuses need both brains and endurance as they tackle television’s toughest questions.”

After reading the article, I have a couple of questions. Is a 1.04 18-49 rating during May sweeps successful? Since the show aired in May, is that a “summer run” (taken from Mike Darnell’s quote)? I thought the month of May was in Spring. With that said, with the low ratings, it might be better off running in July or August.
Liked the show, didn’t like the host.
