It appears that plans for season three of BBC’s Atlantis have sunk. The TV show, which airs on BBC America here in the States, has been cancelled after two seasons.
On Atlantis, a young man named Jason (Jack Donnelly) goes in search of his long-missing father and ends up on the shores of ancient Atlantis. He’s befriended by a pair of unlucky locals — former prize fighter Hercules (Mark Addy) and intellectual Pythagoras (Robert Emms) — as well as a revered Oracle (Juliet Stevenson). Others in the cast include Sarah Parish, Aiysha Hart, and Jemima Rooper.
BBC announced the show’s cancellation this way: “The final seven episodes of Atlantis will transmit on BBC One in spring. We would like to thank Urban Myth Films and all the cast and crew but the series will not be re-commissioned. We are very proud of both series but to keep increasing the range of BBC One drama we have to make difficult decisions to bring new shows through.”
Six of the 13 episodes of season two have aired so far in the US. No word on when they’ll be released here.

God forbid they cancel rubbish like The Voice. As usual the good shows get cancelled, The Fades was another one a while back.

Please renew Atlantis from BBC America network. Maybe it can be renewed on another network if not on BBC America as it ended on a cliff hangar. It was such a good decent show and it really needs a satisfying ending. Thank You so much,

Please, please, please, please renew Atlantis! There are so few family quality shows left on the aire and this was at the top of my list. You just can’t find decent entertainment these days. Its a fantastic show with great chemistry between the cast members. I look forward to its return each season. I hope you will reconsider the cancellation.
