What’s next in store for Bates Motel? Recently, star Freddie Highmore spoke with Digital Spy about the upcoming final season of the A&E TV series.
A prequel to the film Psycho, the drama follows a young Norman Bates (Highmore) and his twisted relationship with his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). The cast also includes Max Thieriot, Nestor Carbonell, Olivia Cooke, Kenny Johnson, Nicola Peltz, Michael Vartan, and Kathleen Robertson.
In the interview, Highmore revealed the final season will be “big” and that he will be writing another episode in addition to directing one:
Season five is going to be such a big season, and I’m writing another episode this year, and I’m going to direct one too. So there’s so much that’s still to come and ahead of me with that, and none of us feel like the end is there.
We’ve still got a huge season left to do. So I don’t think it will really hit until we’re almost done, come January when we’re nearly finished [filming]. Then it will feel real.”
The final season of Bates Motel is slated to debut in 2017.
What do you think? Do you watch Bates Motel? Are you excited for the final season?
Our family has watched every episode. Looking forward to the new season but very sad it will mean the end. Super acting! Thanks to the whole cast, directors, and all support staff.
Love Bates Motel, I hate that 2017 will be the last. The acting is so impressive and I know all of the actors will have no problem getting work. Going to miss it.
