TV show description:
A drama, this TV series revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers. They have polar opposite views of the world and (possibly) a grudging respect for each other’s abilities as they clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) is a good but gruff and hard-boiled detective. He’s had his world turned upside down when strikingly handsome and charismatic Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) opens an FBI field office at the police station — and he chooses Russ to be his partner.
Milt’s polished sophistication and access to unlimited state-of-the-art equipment is impressive to his new co-workers in the absurdly underfunded department.
The pair work long hours together in the economically distressed city and it remains to be seen if Milt’s charm and endless supply of high-end resources or Russ’s old-fashioned cynicism, guile and deception will be the keys to catching the bad guys.
Other characters include Commander Guziewicz (Janet McTeer), Detective Fontanelle White (Kal Penn), Holly Dale (Aubrey Dollar), and Aaron Funkhauser (Edward Fordham, Jr.).
Episode #13 — Sympathy for the Devil
Milt survives a car bombing and enlists Russ to track down his would-be assassin, leading to startling revelations as to why Milt is the way he is and what brought him to Battle Creek.
First aired: May 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season instead?
this was a great show and of course it gets cancelled, that what usually happens when a good show comes on I really liked this program and the characters worked will with each other. it was a show that made me watch it, don’t cancel it, and put reality crap on.
I don’t understand why some shows with little redeeming value are kept on the air year after year (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, etc.) and this well written, well acted show gets dumped after just one season. The network execs need to be replaced with some one with some taste and understanding of what makes a TV show work.
So sad she see a good show ending too soon. The show was hitting its stride & getting better every episode. The characters were developing & I was rwally enjoying the odd mix of character outside of Chicago, NYC or LA. Sorry to see it end before its time. Congrats to all the actors who made these oddballs come alive.
I can’t believe you cancel a great show for it Evan has a chance to love itself. Why don’t you get rid of one of the game or reality shows instead.
Please, some cable network, pick up “Battle Creek” and give it a second season. Air it on Friday or Saturday instead of Sunday. And at 8 p.m. instead of 9. Every episode got better and cast chemistry was nice.
My husband and I love this show! It has a great ensemble cast. It is maybe one of those shows that grows more slowly in popularity but could be a long runner. So sorry it has been cancelled.
We just watched the final Battle Creek. We don’t watch it on Sunday, but watch it as soon as we can the next day! I can’t believe this show is going to be cancelled! So very sad!
I hope another station picks up this great show. Not a lot of murder, guns, etc, and that is why I loved it. Why doesn’t CBS ask the older generation instead of the 18 to 35 age group. CBS has cancelled more shows I liked than Carter has liver pills. It was great acting , humor and all around fun show. Very disapointed. ☻
This SUCKS! Do you know how many good, high quality shows are on non-HBO channels??? Regular TV (i.e., CBS, ABC, NBC) have virtually nothing to offer except for the following shows: Person of Interest The Black List Chicago PD BATTLE CREEK!! Everything else is mediocre and addresses only the light-weight idiots who don’t possess the intelligence, sensitivity and appreciation for excellent writing, casting and direction. So many of us were SO IMPRESSED with this show and now you cancel it because tahe ratings weren’t high enough to reach your lofty standards?!! STUPID, STUPID!!! Why SUNDAY nights???!! This show had no… Read more »
I really love this show. I can’t imagine why it was cancelled. I agree with Sharon that the Show got better and better as the season went on. I really hope they will reconsider.
This is a good show. It was not in a good time slot. It is hard to believe CBS would cancel it and allow some of the real junk they broadcast to continue. CBS should reconsider.
Very disappointed to find out today that last night was the final episode of the series. The show had it’s own uniqueness to it with the comedy/drama aspect and the odd couple chemistry between the main characters. Would have been interesting to see it progress from the first season.
I was so sorry to hear this show has been canceled. I have really enjoyed the humor and hope someone picks it up.
This was a refreshing look at police work. Not like the expected or the NCIC shows. I love the characters and story lines. The humor kept it from being too heavy. I agree that the cast was somewhat of an “odd couple” combo. Loved it!!!!
I keep trying to find the petition to sign & CBS KEEPS TRYING TO HIDE IT. WHAT ARE YOU SCARED OF CBS.
Instead of cancelling a good show like Battle Creek cancel some of the other junk shows like 2 Broke Girls or those ridiculous reality shows . This is an enjoyable and smart show
