ABC has been searching for a ratings hit to fill the Sundays at 10pm timeslot. Turns out that Betrayal isn’t that show but could it still return for a second season? Has it already been cancelled?
Betrayal revolves around professional photographer Sara (Hannah Ware) and top attorney Jack (Stuart Townsend) who, despite being married to other people, have a torrid affair. Things become even more complicated when Sara’s husband and Jack end up on the opposite sides of a murder trial. The rest of the cast includes Henry Thomas, Chris Johnson, Wendy Moniz, Braeden Lemasters, Elizabeth McLaughlin, and James Cromwell.
The series debuted in September and got off to a slow start with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers. The numbers got even worse in week two, dropping more than 24%. In week three, they dropped another 26%.

In short, the ratings were awful but the network didn’t pull the series off the air and a rep even said that ABC was sticking with the show. Why? Likely because they’d already cancelled another new drama, Lucky 7, and fellow freshman Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was also tanking.
Though Betrayal’s ratings have leveled off, that doesn’t mean that ABC is any more satisfied with the numbers and there’s just no way that they’re bring it back for a second season. It’s still on the air because they didn’t have anything to take its place.
The network has released their plans for early 2014 and, to no surprise, Betrayal isn’t part of them. That’s not an outright cancellation but, realistically, there’s as much hope of this show coming back as there being a second season of Pan Am or GCB.
ABC has taken to calling Betrayal a limited series which wouldn’t have stopped them from making a second season had the ratings been stronger. Hopefully for the fans who have stuck with it, the show will end in a satisfying way and won’t not leave a bunch of unresolved storylines.

LOVE love love this show!!!! Please save it! I think it’s worth keeping on tv–GREAT show! Give it a chance–maybe an earlier time slot!? PLEASE save Betrayal–love the show!!!! A neighbor recommended watching it and I’m addicted! Now I have both my parents watching and loving it as well.
Please do not cancel Betrayal!!! It is frustrating to get interested in a progam only to have it cancelled. It makes you not want to trust the network and invest your time watching new shows.
I absolutely love this show. It is the only one I will stay up and watch and not just record for later. Please please don’t cancel it. Everything else is “old and predictable”. This is a great cast – find another day or time, but don’t cancel.

I think the show would have done better on a different night at an earlier time…and like so many fans (despite its ratings) think its got something more to give. I hope its picked up for a second season. I don’t have many favorite tv shows as spare time is something of an issue but this has been one of my favorites that I have looked forward to every week and even have set to record. My husband and I just started watching this show….Buying past episodes from the beginning of the series……. now we hear it may be cancelled….REALLY? gets very frustrating…everytime we start watching a new series it seems it is taken off the air.

What a shame ! This is a great show. I don’t get to watch TV much because of my career, but always made time to watch this show. It’s sad that everything is turning into reality tv. They should consider keeping the show.
I would hate to see this show cancelled. I stopped watching new series shows until this season because it seems everytime I start to get involved with a new show, it ends up cancelled. I couldn’t resist this one, so I broke my rule. I love this show! I really hope ABC will give it one more chance.
I cannot believe it! Another great show bites the dust. I am so tired of cop shows and reality tv? Doesn’t anyone agree. What can be done to save this show?
I know! It’s so frustrating, we finally get something different and they want to take it away! I don’t know what is wrong with ABC! They need to swap the time slot with a more established show and the ratings will go up for sure. It would really be stupid of ABC to give up on this show.

I cannot believe that this show is being cancelled. Please do not cancel this show it is just as good as scandal. The story lines are fantastic. I think there should be more advertisement, and the actors should be on Bethany, Wendy Williams, etc., to promote it. This show and scandal are two of the best shows that free television has had in a loooooooooooong time, so please give it a chance. No matter what I’m doing, when Sunday comes around I stop whatever to turn the channel at 9:59pm. PLEASE DONT CANCEL BETRAYAL!!!
I do not watch series’s but I love this show.
This is my FAVORITE show! Everytime I get hooked on a show they pull it! I watched every episode of the client list and now it’s gone I’m hooked on betrayal! They can’t pull it. All my favorite shows being canceled makes me consider canceling my TV service since all that’s on is reality shows that I cannot stand!
