Bitten is preparing for its third and final season on SyFy, but both the star of the series and the showrunner are hopeful that somehow the series will be saved. Those involved want a fourth season, but the end of season three will provide closure for fans of the series.
Daegan Fryklind spoke about the end of the series with Variety. She said:
“We knew in advance where the season was gonna go in terms of our big push towards 310, but I was aware of the fact that this was going to be the final season of this incarnation of the show, at least, before I wrote 310. So we were able to bring it towards a season and a series finale that is hopefully cathartic and satisfying for our viewers, but it also does leave room for an afterlife, should there be an afterlife. I’m a brat that way, I don’t like to say goodbye… if there’s a movie future or whatever it may be. We have such an incredible fanbase and they are reacting to this in a really exciting way, in that they’re not super thrilled about it being the final season, so it’s really a wonderful reaction to see for us. They’ve been so supportive of the show and so in love with these characters, originating from the books and then where we’ve gone with them in the show — they’re not ready to say goodbye to this world and these characters yet, so we’ll see.”
Laura Vandervoort, the star of the series, also spoke about the fan reaction to the cancellation of the series by SyFY, and she is also hopeful that the series will return. She said:
“I really believe that this third season is our best season yet; all of the actors are comfortable within our characters and the storylines have been getting so much more intriguing and entertaining and a lot of fun to play. We’ve amassed a great fanbase, whether they’re fans of the books or jumped onto the show and then they read the books, and I know us as a group – our cast, our crew – really acknowledge and appreciate that fanbase and that support. I know they’ve created a campaign to bring the show back, I think it’s #HowlForMore, and just seeing that is a really nice feeling, to know that we’re appreciated as we appreciate them. There’s been times – and I’ve been on these shows – where you think it’s done. One day on ‘V’ we heard we were done, the next day we were back, so you never know. If there was an opportunity, we’d be grateful.”

I love this show and believe that it should have more seasons created! This is a very good series that should not be cancelled. This series is movie worthy! Please bring it back.
I was so thrilled to have another season I couldn’t wait!!! I’m heart broken to see it had been canceled… I really wish the show would come back if there is anyone that can bring it back please fight for it!!!!
I watched all three seasons on Netflix, not knowing about it until then. I fell in love with the characters. Even though they did have a little bit of closure at the end of season three, there is so much more that could happen. A movie would be a perfect bow on top of the present. At least to show how life is after the big reveal. But if they don’t have anything, I feel satisfied with how they “ended” it. It was good and bittersweet.
Season 4 needs to happen!!! I love this show!

So much crap remains on TV and then the “all-knowing-powers-that-be” cancel a great show like this. Can’t they just let the fans have what they want ? I can imagine what garbage they’ll come up with. So stupid on their part!
We need a season four!! Such a great show keep it going!! If season four will leaving fans hanging more reason to do season 5 & 6 even!

I loved the show, I started the show by turning it on as background noise while my child would nap and I’d get cleaning done. This ended quickly as I was drawn into the show! Loved the characters and how every episode was one where I constant thought about what would happen next and didn’t just predict it! Another season would be amazing!

This is upsetting. I JUST started to watch this show and I really like it and so does my fiancee (I can NEVER get him interested in anything BUT the news, which is sad for me). So please bring this back atleast for the summer season while I’m waiting on everything to start back up. I’m a bored housewife sooooo give me something to get interested in.
I am so disappointed that they cancelled Bitten I am a big fan. This was a great show, the style of the show was great. Wish they would reconsider bringing it back!
