FX has decided to cancel BrandX with Russell Brand after 26 episodes and two seasons on the air. FX Networks CEO John Landgraf noted the cancellation on a conference call with reporters earlier today.

The cable channel will stay in business with Brand however. They’ve picked up a comedy pilot with him as the star. It will be loosely based on his life and will be a Curb Your Enthusiasm-style show. The project is currently in search of a writer.
