The following is the fourth part of a list of TV series that are ending or have been cancelled during the 2010-11 season.
For more, be sure to check out part one, part two, and part three of the listings.
Note: Go here for the latest 2011-12 season list.
Networks and cable channels have different ideas of when a season starts or ends but, to us, it makes sense to start the season on June 1, 2010 and and it on May 31, 2011. In some cases, the last episode of a show aired earlier than these dates but the network didn’t get around to canceling the series until later. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, try the 2008–2009 page, the 2009–2010 listings.
Scoundrels (ABC)
Airing over the summer, this TV show performed even worse than its sister show, The Gates. All seven episodes have aired and there won’t be any more.
Shaq Vs (ABC) NEW
This reality series pits the star athlete against other stars in their own fields of expertise. It ran for two seasons and 10 episodes but is now done.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Showtime) NEW
Star and executive producer Billie Piper signed a deal for the fourth and final season of this UK series. They’ll begin airing on Showtime on April 7th.
Skating with the Stars (ABC)
Essentially an on-ice version of Dancing with the Stars, this reality series was not a hit in the ratings and won’t be back for season two.
Smallville (The CW)
After 10 seasons, it looks like Clark Kent will finally become Superman. Will we get to see the man of steel slip on the familiar blue and red tights before the end? We’ll have to wait and see.
Stargate Universe (Syfy)
The most recent member of the Stargate franchise hasn’t attracted as many fans as the previous series. Syfy has cancelled the show and all of the episodes have now aired. Producers and MGM are looking at possible ways to continue the series in some way.
The Suite Life on Deck (Disney) NEW
After two series, it looks like Mr. Moseby is finally getting a rest. Mr. Tipton sells the ship and Cody, Zack, London, Bailey, and Woody graduate.
Supernanny (ABC)
Nanny Jo Frost announced that she wanted to end the series so that she can start a family of her own. The finale aired on March 18, 2011.
Terriers (FX)
Though many viewers and critics loved it, this series never caught on in a big way. FX aired all 13 episodes but there won’t be any more.
Traffic Light (FOX) NEW
This sitcom got poor ratings right out of the gate and they went lowers as the weeks went on. FOX has cancelled it after 13 episodes and one season.
True Beauty (ABC) NEW
Contestants on this reality show believe that they’re competing in a contest of external appearance and talents but they’re actually being judged on their inner beauty. It lasted 16 episodes and two seasons.
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS) NEW
This sitcom revolves around the Payne family who live in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. With 222 episodes, it’s the second-longest running US sitcom with an African-American cast (behind The Jeffersons).
Undercovers (NBC)
An action-comedy series that revolves around a husband and wife spy duo never really got off the ground. The peacock network has decided against ordering anymore episodes, effectively cancelling the TV show.
V (ABC) NEW
The alphabet network renewed the serial despite lackluster ratings. Season two did even worse so the cancelled it. Sorry Visitors!
United States of Tara (Showtime) NEW
The ratings had been sliding for quite awhile so the cable channel decided not to order a fourth season.
The Whole Truth (ABC)
This legal series starring Rob Morrow and Maura Tierney had lousy premiere numbers and the ratings seemed to sink lower every week. It’s not known if the network will get around to airing all of the episodes.
Working Class (CMT)
The cable channel’s first sitcom had a great start but the ratings dropped too low for it to get renewed. The last episode aired on April 1st.

What do you think? Are there any shows on this list that you’ll particularly miss?
LIE TO ME was a GREAT series, so different and interesting.
I fully agree with Joanne , why spend an entire season watching a series only to be left with a cliff hanger and no closure. If that is the networks plan, then they need to end the show with answers, like the ABC series ” Life on Mars”, which at least left you satisfied that the time you spent trying to figure out the ending was worthwhile. If I wanted cliffhangers, I will read novels with the last 20 pages ripped out!
Why aren’t some of the reality shows being cancelled instead of some show with good story lines and good character development? I think it goes back to not wanting to pay writers. It’s cheaper to go with boring reality shows. These shows get old really fast.
Why is it when you get hooked on a new good show it is cancelled? Ugh! Wondering why I even bother trying to watch the new shows anymore. There was nothing wrong with The Chicago Code, Detriot 1-8-7, The Whole Truth, Crimal Minds – Suspect Behavior, Human Target, etc. What is the deal anyway??????
It is getting to the point that I don’t want to invest in any new series. The Event, V, Breaking In, Human Target to name a few of my major disappointments that won’t be coming back not to mention last years cancellation of FLASH FORWARD is devastating. And what is replacing these shows, reality television, come on!! I can’t take any more cancellations!!!
I can’t believe that dark blue, the chicago code, v and chase were cancelled. Those were some of my favorite shows! These networks don’t even give these shows a chance before they cancel them!
To The Networks:
Why don’t you try giving some of these shows a chance….patience is a virtue.
Oh silly me, I forgot it’s all about the money, not your loyal viewers!
I’m VERY upset they cancelled Detroit 187, The Gates, Law & Order L.A., Off The Map, & Chicago Code.
You would think the Networks would learn a lesson when “Southland” was cancelled & Cable channel picked it up, and now it”s a #1 show….Shame on you!!
Just put more reality programs on and then I can save $100 for my cable bill and just join Netflix!!!!!!
I will really miss as the world turns and brother and sisters.
I don’t know, but seems that networks are using outdated rating standards and anticipate numbers of viewers who just aren’t there for television any more with all of the other options. That combined with an impatience to allow new series time to find their place. After three or four years of one season wonders, I ask what is the point of getting invested in any new show, when the network will just axe it before it has a chance to grow. Seems like networks can’t tell the new sprouts from the weeds. I guess its time collect the old series… Read more »
Biggest disappointments are the cancellation of Detroit 187, Good Guys and Terriers.
the defender, off the map and all my chidren and detroit 187 and chicago code and the closer is number one show in the world
I cannot believe that Brothers & Sisters, Detroit 187, Chase, Huge, Life Unexpected and Off the Map have all been canceled. Those are/were some of my favorite shows!!
#1 reason becasue they aren’t reality televison. They have real actors on them that also actually know how to act.
What are people in this country watching???
Where do I sign up to vote for what stays on the air and what goes off? IDIOTS!!
To much reality shows dont like them at all time to do away with cable nothing left to watch
Lie to Me and Good Guys were great shows…very disappointed right now.
