Carpool Karaoke may become its own show soon. Variety reports CBS is shopping a full-length series based on the popular Late Late Show with James Corden segment.
The bit features Corden singing songs in the car with famous musicians, which have previously included Rod Stewart, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, and Adele.
Like the Late Late Show segment, the Carpool Karaoke show would feature Corden singing in the car with celebrity guests. Currently, CBS chief content licensing officer Scott Koondel is shopping the series to various outlets, including major cable networks and digital streaming services like the newly launched YouTube Red.
Carpool Karaoke wouldn’t be the first late show segment to nab its own spin-off series. Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle originated as a bit on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and more recently, the “Heads Up!” segment from The Ellen DeGeneres Show was in development. The latter, however, has been scrapped by HLN.
