Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I would like to see the return of Cedar Cove. It was a great series.
I was really looking forward to seeing season 4. I’m extremely disappointed to finally read it was cancelled. I have read all the books and enjoyed following the characters lives, seeing their “lives” on TV was interesting. Thank you for the 3 seasons though.
I believe everyone is waiting for Season 4!!
2 years later and people are still commenting on how ending this series was a huge mistake and disappointment!
Bring back Cedar Cove and the entire cast!
It is so wrong not to finish what you started you wouldn’t let a actor do part of a movie so why are you doing bad business but not finishing this.
I liked that this was a show I could watch with children in the room, it dealt with familiar issues, and showed that life and relationships take work.
I am sad the series has been cancelled with so many unanswered questions – even a half season could have closed so many story lines.
Would love to see this series completed rather than leaving the viewers hanging without an ending!!
What a beautiful and well written show this was. Im sad to see there isn’t going to be a Season 4, I don’t get why the rating dropped so much? Its a shame because there just isn’t many shows on these days that are this sweet and calming. I love watching a show where I wish I was there and lived in that town with those people, What a shame, and with so many story lines just left hanging. Hallmark kinda owes us viewers a decent well rounded ending.
I love the Cedar Cove series and was so disappointed that it ended. Although It’s off the air, I think it would be wonderful if they maybe made a movie to reintroduce it as a regular series on the Hallmark Channel.
I’d like to see the show continue long enough to resolve all the open issues left at the end of season 3.
I was stunned and disappointed to learn that Cedar Cove has been cancelled. With so little programming on network television to recommend itself I find it disheartening that a series that left me feeling uplifted (instead of depressed) was not deemed worth continuing. What happened Hallmark? To add insult to injury the series ended with a cliff hanger. All I can say is -poorly done!
This was a wonderful show. I hate that the show has ended. Like so many it’s terrible to watch a show just to have it end abruptly with no closure. While I think this is a mistake on Hallmark’s part, the very least they can do is give a sense of closure for all the fans who have watched this show for 3 seasons. They should make a 2-hour movie out of it allowing us, the fans of Cedar Cove, to see them do an appropriate closer to the TV series. We faithful Hallmark viewers would really appreciate it. I loved this series!! Got hooked and am disappointed that it won’t be continuing; like eating a great meal and then being denied a dessert at the end!
This was an outstanding series. To leave so many unanswered questions is so disheartening for viewers. It makes me feel like why watch hallmark shows when they when end abruptly. It is hard to get invested and then get dropped suddenly. I should have written this remark when the show wasn’t aired again.
Such a good series to watch and much better than regular tv shows. Season 3 ended with too many unanswered questions and would like to see either a series 4 or a two hour tv special to wrap up all those unanswered questions.
Bring back the show.. IT was a good wholesome show..
