Boris Kodjoe and Jillian Murray have been promoted to series regulars in the second season of the Code Black TV show on CBS. Kodjoe plays ER and OR director, Dr. Will Campbell. This “top-tier surgeon” is put in charge of both departments, in an effort to save money and simplify administration. Per CBS, the promotion makes things “more challenging for everyone else” at Angels Memorial Hospital.
Murray (pictured below) plays Dr. Heather Pinkney. The character is described as, “…an acerbic and aggressive surgical resident.” CBS says Dr. Pinkney’s confidence, “…has moved her career forward as often as it has held her back.” Rob Lowe recently joined the second season of the medical drama. The Code Black TV series cast also includes Marcia Gay Harden, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Luis Guzmán.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Code Black TV series? Do you plan to tune in for the second season on CBS?
I am glad they renewed the series I really love it. I am disappointed though that they took away Bonnie Sommerveils performance but kept in the actress that played Dr. Heather, although I’m not surprised since she is younger and very pretty. I think Bonnie showed much better range in her acting.
Sorry to see them go. Especially Christa.. Glad the show has returned. Love “mama and “daddy. Will be sorry if these changes don’t keep it on.
Please keep the show going it shows what dilemmas the caretakers are also dealing with. I’ve been in healthcare over 30 years and feel the storyline is very well written and a great reflection on the interactions in emergent issues amongst provider and patients .
I watched season one and loved this show. I will be tuning into season 2. Can’t wait.
