TNT Renews Real-Life Crime Series Cold Justice for Third Season
Show Finds Strong Fan Base on Friday Nights, with Big Audience Growth
TNT is ready to crack more unsolved cases as it orders a third season of its fascinating real-life crime series Cold Justice. The series, which recently reached the middle of its second season, has become a Friday night hit for TNT, delivering strong demo growth compared to season one. TNT’s renewal includes 10 episodes slated for the series’ third season. Season 2 of Cold Justice is currently airing Fridays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Season three is slated for early 2015 and will feature both new states and types of cases never seen on the show before.
Cold Justice follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary as they travel to small towns around the country in order to look into murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Since the premiere of Cold Justice last September, Siegler and McClary have assisted local law enforcement in securing a total of 15 arrests, eight criminal indictments, four confessions, two guilty pleas and a 22-year prison sentence.
Cold Justice has averaged 2.3 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery so far this summer, a remarkable +24% increase over the show’s winter episodes. In key demos, Cold Justice is averaging 912,000 adults 25-54 (+12% vs. winter) and 676,000 adults 18-49. The show has found a solid fan base in its Friday night timeslot, growing its Live + Same Day demo deliveries by +13% among adults 18-49 and +4% among adults 25-54, compared to season one.
Cold Justice is produced for TNT by Wolf Reality and Magical Elves, with Emmy® winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Top Chef, Time of Death) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), serving as executive producers.
What do you think? Have you been watching this show? Glad it’s coming back?
My daughter & I love this show, one of tvs best
Absolutely love this show! One of the few shows I watch. I normal don’t even turn on the TV but do on Friday night for this show. Wish there were more than 10 episodes per season. My Mother, who is close to 80 years old, called last night because couldn’t find the show and was very disappointed when I told her the season was over. Please don’t ever cancel this show!
I absolutely love this show, so happy it is scheduled for a third season!!!
this is one of my favorite shows. Please keep it forever as they do so much good for the families of unsolved crimes.
Love this show!!! They are an amazing team..would love to have them help with a lazy D.A. My sisters killer got away with it cause who he knows.I know her husband did it..Small time politics.
I’m SO very glad to hear it has been picked up. I had been watching on IDTV on Friday nights. Now read this article to find out that I’ll be TOO old after my birthday next week! I’m turning 54 and I love this show with strong smart women in Real Life making a difference in Small towns in USA or AKA Real America! With budget cuts and politics as usual, Cold Justic is making a difference!!! Keep up the Great Work Ladies and of course with the help of the Big Guy from Houston and all the others that… Read more »
love this show its a keeper
Great job everybody!!! Love the show!!!
This is one of the most interesting shows I have seen. I found it by flipping around to see if anything was on that I might waste a few minutes on and when I found this, I was hooked. Wish they had more cases and time to work them. They do a great service to the situations they investigate and provide us with entertainment at the same time. Wonderful!
Love this show. Don’t cancel
Great show. Love the women and Johnny Bonds!!!
I was a big fan of Southland as well, but, got over it. Give it a shot, good cases and excellent interaction with each other, no egos.
I haven’ t watched this show yet, but I mainly would prefer The First 48 over this. TNT and I don’t get along too well since they cancelled “Southland”.
Glad that it got renewed and love this show like Cold Case but this is reality unlike the TV series. All the people involved investigating these cases show so much compassion to the victim’s families. They are dedicated with hard tedious work to solve these long over due crimes but sometimes run into obstacles from the DA. They will persist until the person or person’s responsible do their time for the crime.
This show is the “Real Deal”, it shows what happens when small jurisdictions are overwhelmed with a homicide and don’t have the proper resources to conduct a through investigation. It takes due diligence and serious hours to close a case. If you don’t have the manpower, along with strong leads and credible witnesses in the first 48 hours, the case can dwindle into a cold case. These investigators and proscecutor have seen enough cases in their careers to have the expertise in “shaking the bushes” to see what falls out, and in most of their cases they bring closure and… Read more »
