Ratings for the sophomore year of the Colony TV on USA Network dropped off pretty sharply from its freshman installment, but from week to week, it remained fairly stable. While the numbers were good enough to earn it a third season, how much longer will they suffice? How will it perform in the Nielsen ratings this time out? Will Colony be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **Status update below.
A USA sci-fi drama, Colony stars Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies, Tory Kittles, Peter Jacobson, and Alex Neustaedter. The story unfolds in the near-future, in a world where citizens are under military occupation by the Colony Transitional Authority, as part of a large extraterrestrial invasion. Former FBI agent Will Bowman (Holloway) and wife Katie (Callies) were raising their daughter and two sons in Los Angeles, but were separated from the younger boy during the invasion and did everything they could to get him back. The third season kicks off six months after the season two finale, with Will and Katie rebuilding their family in the world beyond the walls. They soon begin a journey during which they’ll uncover the truth behind the occupation. Once again, this family will find themselves having to choose sides.
The ratings are typically the best sign of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The second season of Colony on USA Network averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 814,000 total viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Colony TV series? Should this USA Network TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
**7/21/2018 Status Update: Colony has been cancelled by USA Network. Details here.
Renewed: I love this show!
Fabulous show. Brilliant acting. Storyline engages.
#RENEWCOLONY
The promotion of this show is terrible. The show is absolutely top drawer. I will be seriously pi**ed if it is cancelled. I have invested time and emotion into it. Here in Europe you barely know the show exists. I like the 3rd season but need to know more about the IGA and the outliers, the enemy and what the plan is. For example, why are the IGA prepared to allow the drones to just blow people away? I want a Season 4. The actors are superb. I want Synder to find a way to bring Charlie back and find… Read more »
We are in the middle of season three now, and we still haven’t seen what the factory looks like. They always talk about it. They have also hinted how it is in space. When the sister got sent to the factory it seemed like the perfect way to make a story line to show it. Is this bugging anyone else??
The Factory was destroyed. It was said in the beginning of the season.
oh geez, I missed that :'( Now I will never know
I loved this show but the last few episodes were edited so poorly. There was very little transition into their jobs in Seattle. I’ve invested time again in another show and won’t know how it ended.
I think the show is excellent…. if USA decide to cancel, which I hope not, I hope Netflix or Amazon pick it up
Best science fiction on TV. The show features an arresting story and excellent acting. Hence, it’s unlikely to survive its encounter with the decayed tastes of the American public. Let them eat zombies!
Such a bad decision with what they did recently to the Bowmans, no spoilers but you know what I mean if you’ve seen it. Bad move to happen to the wrong one!! My favorites are Will, Charlie, Broussard and Amy. Dislike Bram but he’s better than he was before. I hate the team of Katie and Bram though when they are so disrespectful to Will. Oh well the main thing is what has happened with this season? Went off the rails. And where is the promotion? None. This show started out so relevant and unique and not so much anymore.… Read more »
Where did the ratings go for this show? Where did the Viewers go for this show? We need to find out if there are any DVR ratings that matter, because this is a sin. If this show doesn’t stay above a 0.20(how depressing is that) it will probably be cancelled. Will next week’s episode get the ratings up? I don’t know. We all know why they moved the location(money) but the show has lost a lot of its audience. There are 5 episodes left, and the people who make the show better sweep NBC Universal off their feet with how… Read more »
This is a good story with solid acting and interesting, relatable characters. One of my favorite sci-fi shows, along with the Expanse and the Man in the High Castle. I’d hate for this show to fall by the wayside.
Wednesday is a lousy night for this show. It did better on Thursdays. We need the ratings to keep going up. Word of mouth is the only way now. Next week should have a lot more action. It deserves at least one more season. I’m hoping for more than one more.
Love the show! Hope it doesn’t get canceled like every other quality SciFi shows does!
I love this show. I had to go back and stream Netflix so I could understand. I binged it because I couldn’t stop watching. I wish Charlie didn’t have to die. But love the show
Spoilers – WTF,
I don’t know if Colony is trying to be Falling Skies, The Walking Dead, Lost, or Terminator or a little bit of all. One thing seems clear, it’s not unique and interesting like before. Particularly seems too much like Falling Skies now (but with better actors) and FS like Colony was good first 2 seasons but each declined badly in season 3. This seems like a very different show and traipsing through the wilderness is a bore and just not doing it for me visually or storyline wise, the show has also lost much of the tension and gravitas of… Read more »
I still like it. A lot. It’s just very different now. I think Bram is much easier to watch now. He’s more mature and actually contributing. I want to see more of what’s happening at the global authority (I think it’s called).
What they need is more promotion to let the public know that Season 3 of COLONY is back the USA Network. I read only one story in a recent issue of TV Guide. That is not enough. Hire a team of good publicists to get some attention for the show!
They do need more promotion, although I knew when it was starting again. They are also out in the wilderness, and we are used to the city. It has a 10 pm starting time on the east coast, and that hurts it also.
Seriously? I‘m not from the US but that would mean 1am west coast, wouldn‘t it? Who‘d watch at this time … ?
That’s why they have dvr. I see at 8 mountain time
NO! The time difference is 3 hours in the other direction on the west coast. I can see you aren’t from the USA. It is on anywhere from 7-9 pm, depending on what other programming there is. If it is on 10 pm on the west coast, that would make it 1 AM on the EAST COAST.
West Coast is 3 hours behind East Coast not 3 hours ahead
