France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
YES Netflix picking it up will give many who watched sports on Sunday night a chance to view it. This will add to the fan base in season 2.
I am a big fan of William Fichtner after watching Prison Break and decided to check out the show just to see him. I will watch it on whatever channel it is shown!
would love to see a second season – just watched on netflix
Love the series. hope to keep viewing it as we are almost finished with season one.
Excellent show. As good as all the BBC offerings which are so much better than what is offered in US.
Yes, please renew Crossing Lines. Finally something close to the quality of British crime/mystery stories, instead of the usual flirt and fluff. Thank you.
Love the first season. Watched it on Netflix, sorry there isn’t a season two. I hope they make the next season…
I loved watching the show on Netflix….I did not realize it was on TV, would watch it and hope that NBC picks it up for the second season.
Just finished watching the first season on netflix. Would definitely like to see a season 2.
Loved the show. Would watch it wherever it ended up!
Absolutely I would watch it on another cable channel. Superior entertalinment in all respects. Just sorry that the female lead got bumped off in the series. Other than that excellent!
i couldn’t care less who airs it, as long as it gets aired…loved season one.
Love Crossing Lines!
Loved the show-I am anxiously awaiting season 2. Don’t care what network picks it up as long as I can continue watching it!!!
I would watch Crossing Lines, like many European crime shows it is encourages the audience to think rather than just have an action adrenalin rush.
